The Hermitage: A DCI Ryan Mystery | L. J. Ross
5 posts | 1 read | 1 to read
FROM THE #1 INTERNATIONAL BESTSELLING AUTHOR OF HOLY ISLAND AND SEVEN BRIDGES He thought he was invincible, but he was wrong... When an old man is found dead inside the ancient hermitage at Warkworth Castle, Northumbria CID are called in to investigate. With no apparent motive, it's their job to unravel why he was murdered - and this time they're forced to do it without their star detective... DCI Ryan is thousands of miles away. He's tracked a killer across Europe and has sworn not to return until he has his man in custody. Nathan Armstrong is a dangerous psychopath but there's just one problem - he's also an international celebrity; a world-famous thriller writer with money and connections. Ryan is a stranger in a foreign land, but he knows one thing - he'll never give up. Murder and mystery are peppered with romance and humour in this fast-paced crime whodunnit set amidst the spectacular landscapes of Northumberland and Tuscany. "LJ Ross keeps company with the best mystery writers" - The Times "A literary phenomenon" - Evening Chronicle" LJ Ross is the Queen of Kindle" - Sunday Telegraph

Melissa_J I know what tater tots are, but I think they are a very American thing. You can find them here, but they aren‘t all that popular (at least I don‘t think they are). 6y
Andrew65 @Melissa_J Just checked online, not speaking to me. 6y
Kaye On the singing : my husband says his 2 favorites he wants me to sing are : SILENT NIGHT. and SILENCE IS GOLDEN. 😶🤭🤐 6y

MinDea Tater tots are just fried potatoes! They're yummy! If you like fries you'll probably like tots! 6y
SleepyDragon Sort of bite sized hashbrowns. Popular with kids and adults not obsessively health-conscious. I think they have them in Canada, as well? Maybe? Never thought of them as particularly American, but perhaps they are. 6y
EadieB I like tater tots but I‘d rather have crispy French fries! 6y
Andrew65 @EadieB Would definitely prefer French fries. 6y
EadieB @Andrew65 I like my fries crispy! Don‘t like them mushy 6y
Andrew65 @EadieB Definitely! 🍟 6y

Pickpick

Finished the latest book in the DCI Ryan series. A bit different this one as the majority took place in Italy as opposed the usual North East England setting. Despite this it was another excellent read. I love spending time with the characters in the book. Now caught up until the new one (book 10!) is published next week. I do recommend this enjoyable series. If you are part of Kindle Unlimited the series is available for free (at least in UK).

Starting book 9 in the excellent DCI Ryan series, before the 10th book is published next week. If you enjoy goid detective fiction they are definitely a series you should read.

Andrew65 @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Don‘t know if I will! But off work from Dec 20th so should get some read then. Do tend to over commit myself but work best under pressure! 😂🤪 6y
