Well, I finished it. I was really looking forward to this. Hello!-that cover! 😍 Sadly, I never believed Kit Carradine as a character. A spy novelist and son of an MI-6 agent would not act the way he did, and I just couldn't suspend my disbelief to buy into the rest of the story. Technically, the writing is fine, but the characters and plot are, IMO, garbage, including how he describes women. 🙄 Read Daniel Silva or John Le Carre instead.
As part of my NetGalley catch-up/clean-up, I used a Libro-fm credit for this audiobook. Y'all, I'm seriously struggling with this. I looked at Goodreads for insight and I must be listening to a different book. I hate bailing on NetGalley books, so I'm probably going to hate-listen to the remaining 8 hours of audio, but if anyone else has read this book or author - can you clue me in to what is so great? Le Carre, he is not.
Kit carradine is recruited by Robert Mantis to fine Lara Bartok. He is soon in over his head in the spy game. Who can he trust? Probably no one.
