@Eggs posted about this book. I love the ocean and books about it. My library had it on Hoopla so I checked it out. I enjoyed the poems — Sea Urchin made me laugh — but the illustrations make this book. It‘s really raining a lot here, so I‘m settling in to continue with Hijab Butch Blues.

KathyWheeler @Eggs It is. Just as long as the number of days of it are short. 😊 12mo

#FebruaryFeels Day 8: This poetry #BookSetByWater was reviewed by Fats: “It is a beautiful and lyrical tribute to the ocean, with topics ranging from blue whale to driftwood, and from the deep waters to the surface. The short, playful verses are fun to read. These ocean poems are complemented by illustrations by Meilo So, done in gorgeous watercolor.” Full Poetry Friday post here: https://wp.me/pDlzr-55T

“I‘m going shopping at the tide pool. They carry everything there- mussels by the bushel and three kinds of barnacle, starfish and gobies to spare.”

I love this book for a third or fourth grade classroom. It would be a great book to get them into more advanced poetry skills

Poetry- this book is a fantastic use of technical poetry skills and images to show the perspective of all the different animals that live among the oceans and the shores. It is a more advanced poetry book so it would be best suited for older children, but the images are captivating
