She's hunting. He's watching. Special Agent Macy Crow is a survivor. After a vicious hit-and-run nearly kills her, she gets right back to work, and now she's gunning for a spot on the FBI's elite profiling team. As an audition, she offers to investigate the recently discovered bones of Tobi Turner, a high school girl who disappeared fifteen years ago. While investigating with local sheriff Mike Nevada, a former colleague and onetime lover, Macy discovers a link between Tobi's case and several others that occurred around the same time as her disappearance. As Macy interviews victims and examines old cases, she uncovers a sinister picture of a stalker who graduated to sexual assault--and then murder. Macy and Nevada race to put this monster behind bars before he can come out of hiding. But the murderer's had years to hone his skills, and soon Macy herself becomes a target. She's no stranger to pain and terror, but will Macy's first profiling case be her last?

Finished last night before I fell asleep. An enjoyable mystery with a small romance that took a back seat to the storyline. FBI Agent Macy goes to a small town where she reunites with the new sheriff, a former FBI agent, to help on a case of recently linked rapes/murder cases. Nothing extraordinary but a quick and enjoyable read.

Darkly intriguing, incredibly menacing, and briskly paced! Hide and Seek is a fast-paced mystery with a wonderfully twist & turn plot that keeps the reader guessing almost until the very end.  The two central characters are likeable and well-defined, and there‘s a fairly large secondary cast, all of whom have important parts to play. I highly recommend Hide and Seek, it will satisfy any fan of romantic suspense.

I liked this book. It had a few slow spots and at times I felt my attention slipping away but I stuck with it and ended up liking the story overall.
It‘s the first book in a new series by Mary Burton and I will be continuing with this series.

I enjoyed most of her books but this? I wouldn't say I hate it nor would I say I like it. But it does keep 🙄 me going with the story. #romanticsuspense

Burton has been on my to read list for years. Hide and Seek was a great introduction to her. The start of a new series, this book centers on Macy, an FBI agent coming off of a life-threatening injury, & a case of a serial rapist/murderer in a small town. Sheriff Nevada heads up the investigation &Mary is brought in to assist. She &Nevada have a history &I‘m glad that while it was explored, it took the back burner to the crimes &mystery.

I always enjoy a Mary Burton book and this one was no exception. Macy Crow, an FBI agent, gets sent on an assignment to find a serial rapist. She is hooked up with the hunky sheriff and they have some shared “history” if you know what I mean. A little bit of romance, but it‘s not enough to gross you out if you don‘t like romance novels. I‘m happy to see that this will be a new series by Burton! Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC.

A few minutes with my book and coffee before I get ready for Christmas. Best part of having teenagers is that they sleep late on Christmas! 😂

Amiable Ha! My husband and I say the same thing. Our boys are 24 and 21, and they are still sleeping, too! 😀 5y
Tamra My kids made it until 7!! (Because it was late bedtime last night and the mean mom that I am required they pick up the hundreds of legos on the floor in the morning sooooo that meant I didn‘t actually get out of bed until 8:30. Wooooot! 👍🏾 Enjoy your rest! 5y
Kappadeemom @Tamra and hopefully so you wouldn‘t step on them!!! I‘m glad I am past the LEGO stage for now! 😅 5y
