This was good.
Today is such a great , chill summery day. Killing some time before we pick up and meet our friend and new roomie at the train station!

So happy to be back to reading ; I really missed it and I'm glad my bookshelf is coming along with more good reads and finds!!!!!
This was a fun listen! And great for #AudioColoring - that‘s for sure! Didn‘t realize it was the first in a trilogy, so I‘m looking forward to listening to the rest of the series soon!
Surface level, this book was a lot of fun. Snappy dialogue, plucky teens, death utopia. If this were made into a feature-length cartoon--wink wink, Hollywood--I want Uncle Mort to look like McGraw from Giant Days (with purple highlights, obvs).
But the few PoCs were flat and totally stereotyped, women generally defer to the men, and the Driggs confession was creepy. Also, apparently white men will almost exclusively welcome you in the afterlife.
SO CLOSE to the end, but I woke up to this Buzzfeed article and was immediately reminded of Driggs. Or what Driggs would look like if he were a white cat whose metabolism couldn't actually deal with all the junk food he inhales throughout the novel.

Unruly teens train as grim reapers. Fast read, dialogue is hilarious and sarcastic. Doesn't belittle death, but don't read if you can't handle a lighthearted, non spiritual look at the afterlife. Fun read!
