Lupe is just your average, insecure, well-meaning, occasionally cranky teenage girl whose life is completely turned upside down when she discovers she has superpowers at her quinceaera. Her quince powers only last as long as shes fifteen, so over the course of this rollercoaster year, we follow the adventures of Lupe as she figures out what it really means to be a hero.

Mehso-so

An awkward, excitable, and easily discouraged teenager gains superpowers on her 15th birthday and discovers that it‘s tough balancing her crime fighting duties with her life. Overall, a fun read with a Hispanic superhero girl, but the pacing and concept didn‘t capture me. It was hard to tell who the intended audience was since this reads like middle grade. Used for #RushathonChristmasBingo made you laugh prompt. #Comic #Superhero

Lindy I haven‘t read Quince, but I‘ve seen this described as “family friendly” and Comics Beat describes it as YA, so perhaps the intended audience is tweens and younger teens. 3mo
Kenyazero @Lindy That‘s probably exactly who this is written for. I have no doubt that many tweens and teens will absolutely love this comic. It‘s cute and charming and the characters are delightful. 3mo

Pickpick

A super sweet graphic novel about a girl who develops super powers during her quinceañera, is trained by her grandmother to fight crime, and saves the day--and the prom--with courage and compassion.

My #weeklyforecast is a day late, but I am excited to dive into this YA #graphicnovel as a part of it.

In addition, I hope to:
? Continue listening to "Real Queer America" by Samantha Allen (currently @ 24%)
? Finish reading "Grimoire Noir" by Vera Greentea (currently on pg. 102 of 275)
? Start reading "Hungry Hearts" edited by Elsie Chapman (haven't had a chance to enjoy any of these stories just yet!)

@Cinfhen

Cinfhen Love your mug 🙌🏻good luck this week 😁 4y
