4/5 for this one. I‘m enjoying this series. It is not your typical middle grade book. There are truly evil characters in this series. Some of this book was sad. I enjoyed the creepy twists though. I will be continuing this series.

Darren is clinging on to his humanity, and refuses to come to grips with his new life as a half-vampire. Mr Crepsley realises that Darren is lonely, so he decides to have them join the Cirque du Freak. These books are so fun - childish at first, so these first few aren't my absolute favourites, but the maturity develops with the series. 3⭐

Snuggling in and starting some Halloween movies. Starting the night with The Vampire‘s Assistant on Netflix. I honestly don‘t know if I‘ve seen this movie before.

Reading the second book of the Cirque Du Freak series with my fourth grader. It's the story of a boy who gets roped into becoming a vampires assistant to save his best friends life after attending a showing of the underground Circue Du Freak in his hometown. A fun fast little fall read so far. 🧛‍♂️🍁🍂

I still loved this so much, 12 year old me was an emotional wreck for this series though 😂 I can‘t believe how much I had forgotten about it can‘t wait to see how the rest of the series goes 2nd time around.

I tried this and got - “it is tricky” he said. 😂

I adore this series!

I am really enjoying this series! It is middle grade, but the story lines thus far are engaging and the characters are well developed and Ralph Lister is a fabulous narrator!
