Ok, so I think this book was a bit of a mess. There was a lot I liked about it, but idk. Too many dream sequences. If you like a maddening amount of dream sequences then this book is for you. I don‘t like the Covid/pandemic aspect of the novel either, even tho the author started writing this book in the height of it, so I get it but it felt like an extra plot line that made the book feel clunky. It would have been better without it tbh.

I‘ve seen this book compared to bret ellis‘s American Psycho and I definitely felt that vibe, especially as her grip on reality started deteriorating and she was no longer able to tell what was real or not. But this book wasn‘t detached and satirical. It was sharp and manipulative and cruel and sad. I couldn‘t stop reading, the MC really got under my skin and I‘m glad to be away from her. ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

Does this book have crazy body horror inflicted by an ancient gelatinous sea creature? Yes. But it also has a wee old Scottish lady living in a dying seaside village that‘s being turned into a golf course as she fights for her home and reminiscence about her late husband and the life they built together. Muriel can‘t be bought and holds onto her land as threats get increasingly more violent. This book was surprisingly sweet and gave me the feels

I love listening to these cheesy little thrillers while I do dishes at night. It was a bit unbelievable and a little predictable but it was entertaining, I‘ll definitely throw on more from this series in the future

Omg LOVED. Holly Black truly is the fae queen! Loved Suren, loved the carnage, I can‘t wait for the next book! There was something I did guess correctly early on but it didn‘t take away from my enjoyment in the story, plus I didn‘t know how it was going to play out. That ice castle was truly nightmare fuel btw 😂 Art by Annalise Jensen 🖤

My first time reading this, I was under the impression this was a romance 💀 , I was really surprised how much I disliked everyone, I really hated Heathcliff, he was so UNRELENTING. Great ending, great gothic tale of revenge. I‘m happy about Cathy and Hareton. I want to watch an adaptation now but there are so many, what‘s the best adaptation? Grateful for any suggestions!🖤

Balibee146 I haven't read this book in probably 30 years...Long overdue for a re read. I tend to like TV adaptations as th longer format gives the story room to play out. There's one from 2009 with Tom Hardy which I'm sure I enjoyed ta the time. 2mo
Balibee146 Arghhh typos lol 🤦 2mo
Balibee146 Oh and I do love the oldest movie with Laurence Olivier clunky by modern standards but special 2mo

I LOVED THIS BOOK. My god was I invested in these two. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Rainbow always makes me want to move to Omaha and cook retro dessert‘s and casseroles, she makes me nostalgic for a life I never had. This is a wonderful book about friendship and love. Hope she writes more adult books

Meh, I really enjoyed the first half, it was like a twisted romcom, the banter made me laugh and the gore was fun but the smut was really bad and I found myself skipping past it. The second half dragged a bit but that could be just me losing interest tbh. Nice twist at the end I didn‘t see coming tho. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ would have been better without the smut

Amara complicated her already precarious life so much in this book. It was incredibly stressful. The ending we got in this book was the exact result of her decisions and it was unfortunate but I couldn‘t see any other way out of it. Curious to see how this trilogy will end. I love some of these characters, I‘m scared for them and I‘m hoping happy endings. That being said, there is also a couple characters I want to see dead ☠️🤬

This book was interesting and creeped me out in a lot of parts but the authors writing style was extremely tedious to me. She repeated the same things constantly just rewording them in different ways and by the end of the book I was no longer invested in the story. Im sure this book was cathartic for the author to write though as she is a former Mormon and her upbringing and decision to leave the church were not easy.

This was a great little horror read. A woman becomes possessed by the demon Naamah. Honestly, you could read many parts of this book as not a woman possessed by an entity but just a woman who is angry, holding that anger in until it manifests into something monstrous. Really enjoyed this one

The first of many Beatles books I‘m going to be tackling this year ✨ heard really good things about this one from uber fans of the band and I like that it has an emphasis on not just the band but what was going on in the sixties at the time and how the two impacted each other.

LaraS Ooo looks interesting. This Boy was recently recommended to me too, I might just have to read a Beatles double header next year 13mo

I understand peoples issues w/ the characters, Josh is arrogant, pessimistic & rigid, Ari is flighty, crass (this book is definitely sex positive) & there are plenty of lines & things she does where I was like CRINGE but I loved the NYC feel, loved the dialogue, I wanted them to be together AND Josh was obviously Adam Driver (the author wrote him really well too) and the spicy scene was 🔥 Also I‘m not embarrassed to admit I cried like 3 times

I don‘t even know what to say. This is a smutty novella about a woman who gets it on with her front door 🚪. The book is told from the doors POV, there is small plot involving murder and also little cameos from a couple Greek gods. Would I recommend this? No lol not really. Is this the worst thing I‘ve ever read? Actually, no lol. I‘m going to count this as a #Septemberromance read ✅🍂♥️🚪
