Fake dating, grumpy/sunshine romance set in a academic setting 🧪🧫💕 this was such a fun read and great fluffy escapism. I loved the science aspect of it too and really really really loved that the main male character in this book is so obviously Adam Driver (I LOVE him.) Can‘t wait for more nerdy romance‘s from Ali Hazelwood 💘

I thought this was fantastic and thought provoking. It was given to me by my step dad as a gift and I mostly read it for him but am glad I did. CS Lewis is a great writer. This also gave me a bingo! for #bookspinbingo and was also the last book I needed for my Goodreads challenge 💜
I think I will read it again another day to make highlights

When I tell you I screamed!!! Madeline Miller is putting her Tempest book on hold and has started writing a novel based on PERSEPHONE!!!! She is the only one I will trust with her story I swear guys I manifested this into existence😭😭 I am constantly on the hunt for Persephone/Hades retellings and they always suck and lack the depth and feels I crave and just like, I know Madeline is gonna do this right 😭😭😭 I am so happy rn!!

My Top 21 for the year 2021 🤖✨ This year I fell in love with Retellings and Dark Fantasy and dipped my toes back into Science Fiction. I also discovered a handful of new authors that are now my absolute favorite, Madeline Miller, Laura Purcell, Holly Black just to name a few 🖤

Not a bad year as reading goes #Top21of21

Go Ask Malice: A Slayer's Diary | Robert Joseph Levy

Pickpick

Wow. This book was really dark and gritty and gory. What a tragic upbringing. It was really cool learning about her transition into Slayer and the whole story with the vengeance demon and the Maenads and past slayers and it was totally written in her voice. Wasn‘t expecting this book to have the layers and depth that it did

Not bad. It mostly made me frustrated. I hate this man with a passion and I hate how he lived his whole life free and I hate how Michelle devoted so much of her life and didn‘t even get to see the bastard caught. It has also made me nervous at night and grateful for having very loud and unfriendly dogs.

tokorowilliamwallace I'm currently testing her work out, and I've started Taltos first (next is Mummy). What were your thoughts on that one? I'm not very far in, but the two threads I've come across so far almost seemed like two completely different books, though I've enjoyed aspects of both, including the charming and interesting characterization. 1mo
TheNeverendingTBR Love those paperback editions! 😍 1mo
reading_rainbow @tokorowilliamwallace I‘m sorry, I have not read Taltos yet, as it is the 3rd book in the Mayfair Witches but I did learn a little about the Talamasca in Queen of Damned and I thought it was really interesting. I would start with the first 3 installments of the Vampire Chronicles, Interview with the Vampire/The Vampire Lestat and Queen of the Damned. They are incredible 1mo

I saw this girl make a video about this book she found at a used bookstore she works at and immediately had to look for it. It‘s about a Scottish man who is murdered in his home on his honeymoon and 150 years later a young woman moves into the same house and I‘m guessing they fall in love (duh of course they do) And look at the 3D cover!! My #bookspin list for December. This will probably be the last one i participate in for a few months at least because my New Years resolution is to WRITE. Write everyday! Listened to this on YouTube and kept me pretty entertained during chores around the house. Felt like I was listening to a Lifetime drama. Bit predictable and all the characters were narcissistic weirdos with mommy issues but it was a pretty enjoyable listen. This was such a feel good read! Angsty rom-com about a man named Aaron who gets a temp job for a man who just so happens to be the creator of Leeches, a TV series that Aaron is obsessed with and writes Fan-fiction for. He was only supposed to be Lewis‘s PA for a week but fast forward years later and he‘s still there. This had the perfect amount of angst, cuteness, mutual pining and great slow burn. Super fun read!

An aggressive protest against womanhood and her relationship with her body. Evanna was so honest about her self-hate, toxic thoughts and her journey to self acceptance. At times I didn‘t feel like I was reading a memoir because I was so absorbed in this story about a girl and was rooting for her to find herself. My heart broke for her at times. This book was honest, mean, poignant and very often funny.⬇️

reading_rainbow Evanna Lynch is an intelligent and sensitive woman and I found this book to be brave in the way that she didn‘t soften her inner ugliness or self deprecation in an attempt to show herself in a better light. I definitely recommend this book, it made me laugh, cry and want to share🦋 3mo
