This morning I completed my yearlong read and first complete read of the Bible! I read many books in print, and I listened to the entire Daily Bible podcast on Spotify. Next year I plan to reread some of those books I only listened to with more in-depth study.

Thanks so much to @BookBabe for hosting and to all that participated in helping keep me on track to finish this readalong on time!

I finished up this week‘s reading this morning and the last couple of weekly devotionals I hadn‘t read yet. That included this page with my marked confirmation verse. As we get close to completing this yearlong read with only 2 more weeks and a handful of books, I‘m also considering which books of the Bible I want to reread in more depth next year.

I finished the book of Psalms this morning! In the final chapters, this is one of the verses that seemed perfect for this morning.

“Let me hear of your steadfast love in the morning, for in you I put my trust. Teach me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭143:8‬ ‭NRSV‬‬

Daisey @TheAromaofBooks Completing this week‘s pages also means I finished my #DoubleSpin 10 for October. 1y
BookBabe Love this! ❤️ 1y
Daisey @BookBabe Thanks! Often when I find a verse that speaks to me now, I specifically go look it up in the app to see if there‘s a great image to save. (edited) 1y

I woke up early to put in a little more readathon time. I‘m finishing up with breakfast and the first few chapters of the book of Daniel.
#BibleBuddyRead #BookAndBreakfast

Overall, I‘ll have right at 15 hours of reading and listening time. I completed three books, read sections of four others for current readalongs, and started two more. #DeweyOct #Readathon

DeweysReadathon 15 hours is a great achievement! 2y
Daisey @DeweysReadathon Thanks! I was surprised I managed to get that many hours. 2y
tpixie Amazing stats! And so great you can remember and juggle all that! I‘ve only read 3 books at a time- all usually in different mediums. Yummy breakfast! 2y
Daisey @tpixie That used to be me as well, one print, one ebook, and one audio. However, I‘ve learned I can balance more as long as they‘re different. Plus, I just can‘t resist some readalongs and still have to read for school and such. I‘ll admit my Tolkien reading has been almost none the past few months, so I made time for a few pages of that last night too. 2y
tpixie @Daisey yes different helps! Keep up the great work! Reading 📖 2y

I‘ve listened to all of Acts, but since this is a book I‘m appreciating more on this yearlong read, I‘m also finishing rereading it in print this morning. Then I still need to catch up on the chapters of Jeremiah for this week.

#BibleBuddyRead

BookBabe Yes, I especially enjoyed Acts too this time around! And what a gorgeous view! 😍 2y
jitteryjane724 Acts is one of my favorites! Second on the view as well 🙂 2y
Daisey @BookBabe @jitteryjane724 Thanks! They just harvested the corn around my house this week, so I have a very different view from the last few months. It makes it feel more like fall to me even if the temperatures don‘t agree. 2y

I‘m ending my day by starting the book of Acts. I‘m looking forward to rereading this book after the other books of the Bible we‘ve read recently.

I‘m playing a bit of catch up this morning after a week of travel and appreciating this passage as I make the switch again this next week from summer farm work to prepping for a new school year.

BookBabe 😃🙌🏻 love seeing this! 2y
Graywacke For biblical stuff, this is a fun book. (But not as fun as Proverbs with its muse of wisdom) 2y

I‘m helping with VBS at my church this weekend and taking a time tonight to review stories for tomorrow once more. I‘m really enjoying the Bible stories about food to go along with a Food Truck Party theme. This lesson is about Jesus feeding the 5000, and it discusses the importance of the boy sharing his bread & fish. Often we struggle with how little we can do, but even small, seemingly insignificant actions can make a difference.

I‘m spending some time this evening catching up and reading more closely some of the Psalms from last week‘s reading. These are some familiar and beautiful verses that caught my attention.

#BibleBuddyRead

Daisey @TheBookHippie I think that‘s a different version than I‘ve heard before. Thanks for sharing! 2y
BookBabe Love these verses! Beautiful. Thank you for posting this! 💙 2y

This morning‘s book and breakfast included catching up on a few more Psalms for this week. It‘s a pretty perfect way to start a Sunday morning.

Good morning! I haven‘t been doing a great job of reading specific Bible chapters daily or switching between the different books. However, over the course of the work week, I made my way through the chapters of Numbers. This morning, I sat down to enjoy the week‘s chapters of Proverbs with a raspberry scone. It was a wonderful way to start my day.

#BibleBuddyRead #BookAndBreakfast

Tamra Ohhh yum! 2y
BookBabe Definitely a wonderful way to start the day! 😍 And that scone…yum! 2y

Daisey @BookBabe This is another of the little things I like about reading in the Bible app. It‘s nice to save beautiful images like this to go with a great verse. 2y

For convenience, I often find myself reading the Bible app on my phone more than a print Bible these days. However, sometimes I truly appreciate spending time with what I consider my every day Bible. This is the Bible I received from my church when I went through confirmation. It has all the random notes & highlights I‘ve made since then, & this page of Matthew has quite a few. I‘m also enjoying the switch from OT to NT for a bit.

#BibleBuddyRead

BookBabe Love that history you have with your Bible! 😃❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I‘m glad to have a change of scenery too from OT to New. 😊 2y

I found a newer edition of the NRSV from 2010 yippie. Alas, it lacks the Apocrypha so I‘ll still be doing my back and forth flipping. But then again that‘s what Theologians do.
