I‘m not getting to read this as often as I would like, but I am thoroughly enjoying it when I do have time to read. #ShardlakeBR #ShardlakeSeriesBR

Happy Saturday morning! I‘m starting a quiet Saturday morning with breakfast casserole and coffee while I catch up on the last few chapters of David Copperfield for October.
I have lots of things to work on at home today since I‘ve been gone the last few weekends, but I plan to listen to lots of audio and fit in some print reading for the Dewey‘s Readathon as well.

I finished rereading Sir Orfeo this morning with breakfast. I enjoyed this poem and as before I noted some similarities to the story of Aragorn as a king returning to his land as a man out of the wild and unrecognized.

Good morning! Today we start our next Tolkien readalong. I‘m so looking forward to discussing these poetic translations with other readers. Additionally, I‘ve missed my Sunday morning breakfast with Tolkien time. I‘m reading this print copy and also downloaded an audio to listen as well.

I‘ve seen so many glowing reviews of this book, but I didn‘t get around to reading it myself until my niece (going into 6th grade) told me it was one of her favorites. I have to agree that it‘s a great story that deals with both very relatable and important but difficult topics in a clear way. I also loved the musical aspect (Izabella is a pianist) and the vocabulary that made its way in from class discussion.

Sunday morning book & breakfast is Dissolution. I‘ve been so busy through June that I just got to read chapter 1 last night. I‘m so looking forward to rereading the early books and finishing the series.

Monday morning book & breakfast! My nephew has decided this series is his new favorite, so he said I had to start reading it. This first book has a bit of a slow start, but it‘s getting more interesting now.

I made a breakfast quesadilla this morning to have alongside a few pages of my new book. This is my pick for Spain this month.

Happy Saturday! This morning‘s book and breakfast includes catching up on this week‘s Sherlock Holmes story and probably listening ahead for next week. “The Adventure of the Engineer‘s Thumb” is not one of my favorites, but I am loving revisiting these stories each week.
