#ManicMonday

1. @ValkyrieAndHerBooks went with my first thought, Emma Bull‘s War for the Oaks, but Jack of Kinrowan also falls under the weirdly specific “Folk singer gets mixed up in Faerie Court shenanigans” sub-genre.

2. Coheed & Cambria, Bloc Party, the Weakerthans

3. Tie: Coheed & Cambria and Flogging Molly, both at Tremont in Charlotte, NC

4. Right now “Capers” by Kele Okereke of Bloc Party.

TobeyTheScavengerMonk “Capers” is so damn jaunty and I can‘t get enough of it. 6y
TobeyTheScavengerMonk Come to think of it, Tad Williams also has a “Folk singer gets mixed up in Faerie Court shenanigans” book 6y
JoScho Tremont was a great venue 6y
xicanti Argh, I can't believe I left Flogging Molly off my favourite bands list! 6y

Pickpick

Whereas urban fantasy is a trendy label these days (haunted by the often cringe-y paranormal romance), de Lint was one of the first and wrote urban myth and faerie stories. This is a collection of two stories, and they are both fairly enjoyable if light romps.

TBR #Shelfie Part 2: Secret of the Ooze - Fantasy on top. Science Fiction on the bottom.

Jack of Kinrowan, The Goblin Emperor (favorite book I read last year) and The Builders are no longer TBR. Progress! #Riotgrams
