The Special Crimes Unit consists of agents with different kinds of psychic abilities. The plot is exciting and fast moving. The methods the killer uses are gruesome and designed to create the most fear in the victim. These include a guillotine connected to a timer counting down, a tank that gradually fills with water, and being buried alive.
New-to-me author/series: so far I think this will be right in my wheelhouse
ETA: I was right - now I want to read them all! I enjoyed both the suspense and romance parts of this book and find the paranormal twist adds to the escapism.
