Pickpick

I really loved this which surprises me. Typically I don‘t get along well with anything remotely similar to urban fantasy. But this is a gritty, self deprecating detective story set completely in a fantasy world where all the magic is gone and I couldn‘t get enough of it. As depressing and as awful as the characters situations were, there is some hope in these pages which is truly what made this so fun to read. The writing was engaging and 👇🏻

RainyDayReading I loved the large amount of creatures that were incorporated into this world! Elves, wizards, trolls, vampires, dwarves, werewolves etc. I‘d say this could be appealing to fans of the Dresden files. Even to people like me who don‘t usually like urban fantasy. #merryreaders #wintergames2020 @Clwojick @TheAromaofBooks This was my #doublespin for my second board. 4y

I didn't hate this but it just didn't do anything for me as a story. The writing was fine but I was just expecting it to feel more of a fantasy with vampires but the setting just made me think of New York City for some reason and then I just thought urban fantasy which I don't generally enjoy. I don't think I'm the target audience which is too bad because I love that cover.
