2. Bottlecaps and Candy Corn 😖
3. With my family I love roasting pumpkin seeds Hocus Pocus. My parents and I used to dress up and go clubbing on Halloween after I turned 21 but I‘m not sure if we‘re doing that this year. With my boyfriend we‘ve gone to a improv murder mystery show for the last 3 years and it‘s hilarious.

Alright I‘d say that I have a fairly decent amount of music knowledge but some of these I wasn‘t too sure about. Fingers crossed that I at least got a couple of these right. The format was a little hard for me to keep track of so I hope I put the right letter with the artist I was intending to put it with 😅 I‘ll have my answers down below in the comments. #teamslaughter #scarathlon @Clwojick

I forgot how much I loved this movie as a kid! Scooby Doo and the Reluctant Werewolf. Dracula needs a new Werewolf to drive in the Monster race, so he turns poor Shaggy into one! Shaggy and Scooby, with the help of Scrappy and Shaggy‘s girlfriend Googie? Cookie? I honestly don‘t know, have to win the race otherwise he‘s stuck as a werewolf forever. Day 16 of the #ChillingPhotoChallenge I love #candy but these caramel apple pops are my absolute favorites. Especially in October. So I bought myself a bag last week, went to grab myself one today...there‘s only ONE LEFT!!! Someone has eaten nearly the entirety of my caramel apple pops but so far no one has confessed 😒Guess I‘ll be buying more and then immediately hiding them in my room. Loved the lore and recipe portions of this one, but otherwise found it a bit repetitive and not as strong as other installments in this series. But for just some general info it‘s not bad. I‘m honestly surprised by how much I enjoyed this having read another book by this author that I didn‘t really like at all. Fast paced, creepy and at times a little graphic but it wasn‘t overwhelming. I found myself glued to my seat as I was trying to figure out what was going on. “The Siren” is misleading which is unfortunate and the MC was slightly irritating but the mystery surrounding the Alexander House was a page turner. #teamslaughter

I don‘t know what I was expecting, but it certainly wasn‘t a grimdark Redwall set in the Wild West, but I loved every page of it. I loved this! This discusses horror and speculative fiction in its earlier incarnations all the way to present day and shows that female writers have been in the genre since the beginning and have helped shape it into what it is today. Fun, informative and I‘m so glad to know more about these badass women writers. #teamslaughter

One of the best things about this was the characterization of Daisy and Claire. I would read a book just about them. But overall this was just meh. Wasn‘t as creepy as I was hoping but was very atmospheric. It was solid but felt like it could have used more time to develop, more explanation in some places and the end left me with way too many questions. It works but I‘m unsatisfied.

A psychological slow burn with a supernatural edge. I loved the pre-WWII backdrop and the overall atmosphere of Prague. The author did a really good job weaving the storylines of the psychiatrist and the police inspector together and I was not expecting the ending. It was a little slow but I had a hard time putting it down. This is what I wanted The Silent Patient to be! If you‘re looking for a Halloween read, try this.

This is basically what it looks like. A fast read about a haunted IKEA-like furniture store. This was fine for what it was but I was hoping for more. Didn‘t connect or like any of the characters, the reasoning behind the “haunting” wasn‘t written in a way that I could completely buy into. I guess that‘s my major issue, clearly you‘re not meant to take this book seriously, but I just couldn‘t suspend my disbelief enough to have fun with it.

I really enjoyed the teen detective aspect of this. But the rest I felt was a little lackluster. It wasn‘t nearly as creepy as I was hoping for, and I think I know what was going on....I think? I‘m still not 100% and for some books that uncertainty works but with this particular one, for me, it doesn‘t. I felt the writing went in circles at times and could have benefitted from some more editing but overall it wasn‘t bad. But not my favorite.

A new favorite! I definitely was not expecting there to be as much humor in this as there was. Quick, familiar yet refreshingly new. I loved the writing style and even though some of the physics went over my head, it never bogged down the story. I wish there had been a little more explanation in places but overall I loved this. Will be keeping my eye out for a copy to add to my collection as well as the next book in this series.

I kept waiting for the suspense to show up but it never did. I loved the atmosphere and the amount of history included in the story, but overall it was pretty boring. The characters didn‘t have any redeeming qualities, the motive behind the murder was a mystery up till the last page and even then it still didn‘t seem to be worth reading the 334 pages for. The plot was slow and moved in circles and two characters held all the answers, if only 👇🏻

RainyDayReading The main character thought to talk to them first. It seemed like they weren‘t allowed to find out anything for themselves. They were just handed information because they would just spin their wheels getting no where otherwise. I think too much was spent in trying to shock the reader in regards to the nature of the victim and not enough oomph was given to the plot. Just boring. 2mo
RainyDayReading Also the random bits of the main characters home life thrown in their to....what....make her more likeable? In reviews on Goodreads people seemed to enjoy those pieces but I honestly couldn‘t stand them. They added nothing but more pages. Sigh. I have a lot of frustration when it comes to this book 😅 2mo

I love this series! The stakes just keep getting higher with each volume. This had quite a bit of action in it that I mostly skimmed over since it‘s hard to follow though I‘m sure they depicted it beautifully in the anime. They just don‘t always read well in manga. I have a suspicion who the female titan is but I‘ll be curious to see how they prove it...This is a series where it is best to not get too attached to any character.

If you ever read one book about the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, make it this one. Thoroughly researched, I was hooked from the beginning, turning the pages with anticipation and dread because I knew how this all ended. It‘s a little heavy with the technical and chemical side of things but I appreciated it since it showed that the author truly did his homework even if my grasp of what he was saying is loose at best. I enjoyed the human aspect 👇🏻

RainyDayReading Of this and how the story not only dealt with the environmental and economic costs of this event but with the human ones as well. It was infuriating, enthralling and overall I am very glad that I read this. If I ever come across a copy of this I will definitely be grabbing one for myself. 2mo
Hooked_on_books I really liked this, too. So well done. I felt like I was there. 2mo
Megabooks How many pages is it? I‘m trying to decide on format. E/audio/print 2mo
RainyDayReading @Megabooks It‘s 538 pages though the last 100 pages or so are nothing but notes and references so the actual story itself is really only a little over 400 if I remember correctly. He goes into a lot of detail regarding chemical reactions and the way the reactors were designed so I‘m not sure that audio would be the way to go with this because it would be a lot to keep track of. Physical or ebook would probably be better. 2mo
Megabooks @RainyDayReading Thanks!! That helps a lot. I‘ll probably go ebook. 2mo

A new favorite of mine. Utterly engrossing in a very subtle way. I didn‘t realize how invested I was until I legit couldn‘t put it down. I enjoyed the banter between the characters and the look into what it means to be human. This is a survival story, ghost story and psychological thriller against a sci-fi backdrop. I wish that the Tunnelers has been explained more as they seemed a little convenient at times but I loved how character 👇🏻

RainyDayReading driven it was. I wish the horror element had been a little stronger since it was kind of there but it didn‘t feel deliberate enough for me to be sure that it‘s truly what the author meant. Overall great read. 4/5 stars. 2mo

I‘ve gone through some graphic novels lately so I thought I‘d lump my review all into one. The Wicked & The Divine vol 3 was my favorite out of these while Afar was my least favorite. Afar was still good, but it‘s a stand-alone and I felt like it crammed a lot of things into this single volume that could have been fleshed out better had there been more volumes. •Exercise at least 30mins to 1 hr a day
•Eat 3 meals a day-1 of which has to be healthy (I am awful at making sure I eat)
•Read 12 books over 6 weeks-At least 6 have to be books, not just graphic novels.
•Limit my unhealthy snacking

I love this graphic novel series! Just can‘t get enough of the world and Morpheus. Though the stories in this volume doesn‘t do much to further the narrative of the first two volumes. We do get to see how Morpheus has impacted the world through the ages and all the guises he uses. Only one story confused me but it included Death who I also love so I was fine with it 😁

Swe_Eva Fantastic series! I reread the whole bunch every five years or so. Love it. 4mo

I rather enjoyed this collection of quick and clever stories regarding a little old lady named Maud. Maud is just what you would expect little old ladies to be like, except she has a murderous streak. The stories were short but humorous and I wish there was more! Though I‘m not sure how many more bodies Maud could handle. I wasn‘t sure at first, but this small collection came together in the end.
