Galbi Tang - Korean beef short rib soup with starch noodle 🍜

I love eating hot soup on cold dreary days. For this galbi tang, I used Maangchi‘s recipe online.

And I‘m so happy that her success online resulted in the publication of a recipe book.

So, if you want to try some authentic Korean dishes, I strongly suggest Maangchi‘s recipes 😋 👍

Ruri_kaichou As a Korean I fully endorse Maangchi's recipes. 😎 The ones I've used were really good! And galbitang is such a great idea on a cold day 🍖🍲 7y
Serotonin @Ruri_kaichou I‘ve used her recipe for this soup so many times. I keep coming back to it. Even my mom makes it too! I need to explore more of her recipes as well 👍😉😋 7y
TricksyTails Ohhhh this is mouthwatering!! 😋 7y

I have a really hard time determining #guiltypleasures, but @Abby-J did point out my penchant for #foodporn...that is, checking out cookbooks for the pictures and not actually cooking. Here are two I currently have, #InternationalWomensDay edition: @angrylilasian brought the Maangchi to my attention, and Modern Potluck is a second checkout (I may actually use one of the recipes!). #marchintorreading

Abby-J I need to check this out. I can never figure out how to get my beef sliced thin enough for bulgogi. 8y
angrylilasian @Abby-J If you freeze the meat for an hour or two, it's easier to slice! 8y
angrylilasian @LindsayReads yay! And I love potlucks! I'll have to see if my library has that one. 8y

Pickpick

My mom never taught me how to cook. So when I moved out & had to learn, I asked her how to cook the foods I love so much. But she didn't have any recipes. She measured things with her hands and went by feel and taste! Not helpful. A few yrs ago, I discovered Maangchi's YouTube channel. Not only is she adorable but her recipes are easy to follow and everything I've tried comes out tasting exactly how I think it should. Kindle version on sale today!

LeahBergen My husband and I are addicted to her videos!!! We watch them in bed. I was thinking of buying this cookbook for him. 😀 8y
angrylilasian @LeahBergen Yes! The Kindle version is $3.99! 8y
Nafiza Ahh I follow her recipes. I love Korean food. 8y
