I have read this book three times and I have been blown away three times. It is creepy, romantic, and empowering. Perfect for the season. The prose is delicious.

I am DEAD. My book has an amazing cover and I am so incredibly thankful. The artist is Colombian and has done such an exquisite job. He has perfectly captured the essence of the protagonist.

This book was reflective and introspective. Levy‘s musings on what it means to be a woman, an older woman who lives in defiance of society‘s expectations for her are lovely. #nonfiction #feminist

This wasn‘t as life changing as the hype led me to believe it would be. I thought it was rather ambitious and did not quite manage to do everything it sought to. However, it is a solid read and I enjoyed it.

In turns provoking (though and emotion) and inspiring, this collection is one of the most beautiful ones I have had the pleasure to read. Barnhill keeps exceeding all expectations.

This was heartfelt and sincere. Ramsey didn‘t spare her pride and ego when she wrote about her experiences and the things she learned from them.

This book is bonkers in a fun zany girls school way that involves inter dimensional war and the most bizarre cast of characters you will ever find in fiction. I dare say you will never look at skipping or ants in quite the same way after reading this book. I loved it.

Brutal but compelling. Trigger warnings for basically everything. It was almost too much for me but I was invested in the characters so I read on. The ending is bittersweet and leaves a chunk of story for the sequel. Recommended but with caution.

hcneyedwords if you haven‘t already, you should definitely listen to her read them! i‘m sure there‘s videos of her on youtube; i found her through a facebook group called “button poetry”. it‘s much easier to get into them when you can hear the emotion in her voice and the reactions from the audience :) 6y

This is a relatively easy to read collection of vignettes about a person's diary keeping. I didn't find it to be the mind blowing volume the blurbs kept assuring me it was but it made me think about time, myself, and mortality which I appreciated.

This was sweet and really poignant. I loved it for its representation of marginalized characters especially those born with disorders that manifest themselves in various ways physically. This book reminds ppl not to impose their preconceived notions abt ppl onto these ppl.

The book is lovely. #middlegrade

I don‘t know. These books are so short that character attitudes seem rather cavalier toward people who are not as fortunate as they are. The MC's blindness to her brother's fault further soured my enjoyment. The romance too is rather problematic. Meh.

I had a lot of fun reading this book except for the part where the MC does not at all sound like a 13 year old. She could have been an adult from her voice. This is marketed as MG and I don‘t see why? The MC could have easily been 16 or even older without any great change to the novel. I will never understand editorial decisions.

I have been M.I.A due to reasons, one of which I hope to be able to share soon. But goodness, I have so many books to read it isn't even funny. I started a new job as the Education Coordinator for Vancouver Writers Fest which means I can get away with excusing recreational reading as work reading. Ha. But I am somewhat overwhelmed by the many choices.
