Knife Edge
Knife Edge | Malorie Blackman
4 posts | 30 read | 6 to read
Persephone Hadley is six months pregnant with a mixed-race baby. In their society this fact alone will threaten the child's life every day. To make matters worse, the baby's father, Callum, is dead. He was hanged for terrorism months ago, but his presence still torments Sephy. And she's not alone. Callum's brother, Jude, blames Sephy for the death, and thirsts for revenge...in the form of her life. Obviously, Sephy is not fond of Jude, but when his actions take him to the brink of disaster, his life poised on a knife edge, can she stand by and do nothing? Will she be forced -- once again -- to take sides in a chilling racial drama?

Last summer in this challenge i read the 1st in this trilogy so this was a great excuse to return to the world of O's and X's. In this the story flips between sephy + callum's wanted br jude.
I enjyd again malorie blackman's inversion of the race story which reads like a thriller + i rattled thru in a day.
And @youneverarrived as discussed last yr id recommend.

Cinfhen Lovely that you are continuing the challenge from year to year ❣️ 4y
BarbaraTheBibliophage One thing I love about YA books is how fast they read. But sadly, there are lots of other things I don‘t like much. Good job on this one! 4y
youneverarrived Oh that‘s good to know you liked it! Thanks for remembering to tag me and let me know 😁 4y

I've had this book for AGES but haven't worked up the nerve to read it. Noughts and Crosses absolutely devastated me, I couldn't sleep the night after I read the ending! #UKYANov #YA #UKYA #youngadult #malorieblackman

BookishMarginalia That seems very intense. 7y
juliannebenford @BookishMarginalia I did not see the ending coming! 7y
