A soft pick as I've grown weary of this testosterone-soaked writing style. This is a bleak novel in which punishments are self-inflicted and permanent, in which a little self-reflection and humility would derail the entire plot. It is also a beautifully written novel and an honest portrayal of how people sabotage themselves. And it's my #bookspin for December.

Update on Camille's evolution into a lap cat. Her warm, furry weight is helping me get through a not-very-exciting part of the tagged book.

With Silo's help, I finally found time to read some of this strange and so far depressing book.

A slim volume packed with ideas about guilt, fate, death, and who‘s in control of our life. There is so much humor, especially when the dead are speaking, that you don‘t think you‘re reading about such weighty subjects. But it will get you thinking. #MountTBR
