Sub in Morton, IL for Lake Wobegon, MN, and this is pretty much dead on! 🎃

For the most part an enjoyable listen. The live audience portions does add a little more. Petered out towards the end.

Catching up on counting down to deweys read-athon. The short story. I do have some Garrison Keillor short stories on the shelf. Short stories are my jam usually. Day number 26. #30daysofreadathon

I really need to stop picking books that evoke emotional responses when I'm already under a lot of stress. This is as much a satire of Midwestern small town life as it is a memoir of it. Lake Wobegon could be any Midwestern small town, really. It reminds me a lot of my childhood, especially parts of it I'd just as soon forget. Well done, Mr. Keillor.

#localauthor I live in the actual Lake Wobegon of central Minnesota that Keillor so perceptively satirizes. I had totally forgotten I had a signed copy. Louise Erdrich is from North Dakota but I think she still lives in Minneapolis. Interestingly both authors have opened bookshops in the Twin Cities- doing their part to support bookish culture
