The UDL strategy that would fit with this story is 3.1 “Activate or supply background knowledge.” Talk to the students about what they know and remember about Harriet. 4y

bsiqueira The ESOL strategy 30 “Encourage the use of diagrams and drawings as aids to identify concepts and seeing relationships” would fit in terms of having the students connect with what Harriet Tubman has gone through and what the little boy and girl are going through. 4y

This Jane Adams award winning picture book demonstrates the history of Harriet Tubman and her work with the underground railroad in a story about a girls journey to find her brother.
