This was recommended by a teen who lived in Australia- and it was a great choice! Two kids try to do what‘s right to help two kids in a detention camp. There are a lot of grey lines- sometimes the “bad guys” are good and sometimes the “good guys” are bad, and I laughed, I cried, I loved it. #foodandlit #Australia

An easily accessible novel that touches on some pretty heavy issues - it really is one that all Australian teenagers should read.

Had to teach the same couple of chapters of this twice today. One class laughed at the humour, the other were 'too cool' and rolled their eyes.

I'm just happy that it is getting them thinking about Australia's abysmal refugee policy.
