I'm not usually into horror, but I really enjoyed this! Just creepy enough to keep me on edge, with a great helping of 80s nostalgia.

Alternating points of view, authentic teenage voices, death.... A perfect winter read.
A multiple POV crime that totally had me fooled. I smashed this in two days, which is pretty rare for me these days.
I just couldn't do it. I just couldn't feel any connection, so this one is going in the donate pile.
Currently listening to this on my way to and from school every day. I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would - an interesting premise, and I'm curious to see where Mead takes it.
An impulse buy, and at the moment I'm really not sure if I'll finish it. I'm hating the protagonist more with every chapter, and while I know I'm not the target audience, so much just feels inauthentic and forced. I guess my students are just too far removed from Lele's world
An easily accessible novel that touches on some pretty heavy issues - it really is one that all Australian teenagers should read.
Next on my list - a book I mentioned in passing to the school librarian I thought would be good for my year 8s. The next week she was handing it to me. I guess I better read it!
This book was a great variation on all the YA I've read before. The science fiction elements gave this book a depth I hadn't been expecting. The relationships between the various characters and Gottie were realistic and authentic and were the reason I read this in one day.
"My underwear is in the apple tree."
This may be my favourite opening line of all time!
I have no idea what this is going to be about. I'm such a sucker for a pretty cover.
Not my favourite of the series, but a very satisfying conclusion to the story. I am enjoying this audiobook version more than I enjoyed binge-reading the hardcover back when it was released!
However, I don't think I will ever forgive JK for the deaths of Fred, Lupin, Tonks and Hedwig.
Had to teach the same couple of chapters of this twice today. One class laughed at the humour, the other were 'too cool' and rolled their eyes.
I'm just happy that it is getting them thinking about Australia's abysmal refugee policy.
Received my first #bookwormz package today. Not sure if it's going to be my kind of book, but always happy to try a new #Australian read!
