I really should be more careful of which books I choose to read. This one had me in tears so many time with the reminder of the loss last year of the man who raised me. That said this was a wonderful quick read and it did make me laugh in places.

Starting this one today. Was hoping to finish the iron knight but it got autoreturned to the library now I'm third on the list for it :(

It is nice to see a YA book breaking down the assumption that being a loud smartass all the time makes you cool, persuasive, and a leader. Don't get me wrong, I love snark, but I also know that it's not the most effective way to get what you want in life (and that there is a difference between standing up and being arrogant).

RJ always gets what she wants. So when her soul is accidentally collected by a distracted Grim Reaper, somebody in the afterlife better figure out a way to send her back from the dead or heads will roll. The tribunal presents her with two options: she can remain in the lobby, where souls wait to be processed, or she can replay three moments in her life to make choices that will result in being saved.

I started it as a fun and quick read, but got so much more out of it. It's difficult to move past the fact that the characters (grim reaper, Death Himself, Saint Peter, and other angels and various afterlife "employees") all talk in the sarcastic banter of a teenager. But once you move past that, the book has a lot of enjoyment value. I didn't expect my throat to tighten/cry towards the end, but I sure as hell enjoyed the ride. Good for YA fans

I'll admit it: I judge books by the cover, which gets me into a lot of crappy books. Loving this cover and title, so today I am starting it. I'll let you know.
