So excited to start reading this - and a signed copy, too!
#TBRtemptation post! What an interesting cover, and an interesting premise too. Piet & his wife have lived in 1910s South Africa posing as a wealthy French aristocrat & American railroad heiress. But they're far from French & rich. His charm is about to run out, so they attempt to begin a furniture business. The thing is, the wood comes from a sacred forbidden forest in the Xhosa's lands. How does one steal a forest? #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎
Pretty fing awesome. Richard Mason rigorously researched the history behind this novel, and does a tremendous job of getting inside his characters' heads to show the evolution of their thinking and how it affects their actions.
Ok, time to disconnect Twitter! This forthcoming novel set in colonial South Africa looks totally up my alley!
