Run, Pip, Run
Run, Pip, Run | J.C. Jones
4 posts | 1 read | 3 to read
Pip Sullivan's tenth birthday was a disaster -- and that was only the beginning. With her beloved Sully in hospital and the welfare hot on her heels, Pip needs time, money and a place to stay. She's determined to stay one step ahead of Senior Constable Molly Dunlop! With help from her friends -- including a psychic cat and a canine escape artist -- Pip needs to stay out of dreaded foster homes so she can help Sully get better. Run, Pip, Run is a warm-hearted story about a small girl on her own in a big city, but who knows a thing or two about loyalty, bravery and friendship.

I packed my overnight bag in haste and ending up packing this delightful gem... that I've already read 😂 it's all good - I never pack just one!

Carol You've intrigued me! Maybe I'll just read books with a form of "run" in the title. ? 8y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag I really liked it! Pip is amazingly self sufficient (although I had moments of BUT YOU ARE SO YOUNG! THIS CANT POSSIBLY END WELL) for a 10 year old (also, much neater than I have ever been) and I do love books that deal with secrets and their often unintended consequences (in this case, Sully isn't upfront about Pip's mum) @Carol 8y

Hi, my name is Sharni and sometimes I buy books to distract myself from things not going very well...

(I have managed to read four books in this tower already tho - so that's good! 😅)

I should get rid of PayPal.

What fun photo challenge are we doing in September?

Theresa A Torch Against the Night!! I'm about 1/3 of the way through my first reading of An Ember in the Ashes & am loving it so much that I'm tempted to by A Torch... right now. But I decided to hold off because I'm hoping to see Sabaa Tahir at the #DecaturBookFedtival this weekend & buy a copy there. 8y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag Ooh nice! A signed copy would be worth the wait @Theresa 8y
[DELETED] 1409720085 Yeah...I have no self-control. 😂💸 8y

thegirlwiththelibrarybag 2 books came in book boxes and I won one @emilydecato 🤔 but yeah - there wasn't a lot of control this month! I'd say next month will be better (but I've already bought some things) 8y
LeahBergen @RealLifeReading has created a September challenge. It looks awesome! 😃 8y

Pickpick

Pip's 10th birthday goes awry when her grandfather, Sully, has a stroke and is taken to hospital. Except he isn't really her grandfather. Consumed by fear that Children's Services will take her away from Sully forever - she makes a break for it, eluding staff at the hospital & takes to the streets, which is really just the start of the adventure...

This was shorted listed for 2016 Book of the Year by the (Australian) Children's Book Council.🇦🇺

Yesterday was National Book Day and I had no time to go to bookshop... Plenty of time today so I picked up 5 books plus freebie #saveozstories today...

#saveozstories is a response to the current proposed changes to Australian copyright law by a number of brilliant authors...
