5 posts | 7 read | 6 to read
He's the middle of the three Carson brothers and is as stubborn as they comeand he won't thank a beautiful stranger for getting in his way!Drake Carson is the quintessential cowboy. In charge of the family ranch, he knows the realities of this life, its pleasures and heartbreaks. Lately, managing the wild stallions on his property is wearing him down. When an interfering so-called expert arrives and starts offering her opinion, Drake is wary, but he can't deny the longingand the challengeshe stirs in him.Luce Hale is researching how wild horses interact with ranch animalsand with ranchers. The Carson matriarch invites her to stay with the family, which guarantees frequent encounters with Drake, her ruggedly handsome and decidedly unwelcoming son. Luce and Drake are at odds from the very beginning, especially when it comes to the rogue stallion who's stealing the ranch mares. But when Drake believes Luce is in danger, that changes everythingfor both of them."

Pickpick

Drake definitely appealed to me. Cowboy, cares about animals, stoic, stubborn. I liked Luce but understood completely why Drake was exasperated about her being on his ranch, interfering w/ his life. They fell hard too fast, I would've liked the story drawn out more so they could actually have time to get to know each other before realizing they loved each other. The banter between Drake and his brothers made me laugh, as did several other scenes.

I may have read the 3rd book in this trilogy first, but I loved it enough to go back and read the first 2. I finished book 1 in the wee hours this morning and just finished book 2. Engaging characters, sweet storylines, fantastic scenery. Almost makes me want to go live on a ranch with a cowboy of my own. Almost. #24in48 #hsreadathon #readathon

I found the solution to my problem of not being able to focus on Into the Water right now. A sexy cowboy #romantsy? I've read half of it already and taken a catnap! And the emphasis is on the plot and character development. Sure there's sex but it's not just thrown in there because it's a romance. #24in48

CoverToCoverGirl I've read several by her.. she writes easy to read feel good romances with great humour. I quite like her. 7y

Impulse buy and my first book by this author. This was just ok for me- it felt predictable and didn't wholly engage me.
