The idea behind the book is important and commendable but there‘s nothing that makes reading someone else‘s actual middle school diaries appealing. Or maybe I‘m just old and cranky. Full review at http://booknaround.blogspot.com/2018/06/review-unslut-by-emily-lindin.html
Going through books, found this one, and figured I‘d read it to move it off the shelf since I don‘t anticipate it being in my wheelhouse. No idea why I still have it but feel like I should attempt it before I send it off to another home.
Like Emily, I have kept my diaries from when I was young and hope to use them in writing my memoirs eventually. This book rang so true for me. Wrought with teen angst, I related so much to Emily look back on these times now and don't miss them. Changing friendships, bullying, and slut shaming were de rigeur in those times even before Facebook and smart phones. I so don't wish to be a teenager today!
As for the book, A++! I loved it!
