This character-driven novel follows the lives of 4 Russian emigrant friends who all now live in NYC. I struggled to get into this, as I prefer plot-driven books. The characters are all well-drawn though--recommended for those who enjoy character-driven books!
Struggling big time with this ARC. Lots of typos, lots of words, nothing happening. Not sure if it's me of the book 😕
Had a stressful day at work but was able to pick these up during my lunch break. Of course all of the books for which I've been on the holds list for a while would become available just as I'm trying to finish reading All the Light. #bookishproblems
My nightstand stack. One long-term project, 3 middle grade books my 8th grader wants me to read, 1 for my high schooler, 2 ARCs, 1 1001 list book, and 1 from the Booker long list. Not included here--what I am actually reading! #bookstacks #bookphotochallenge
My thanks to Penguin & the author for an ARC of this book.
This book may grow on me. I found myself happier for the characters at the end than I expected to.
It is a current study of adults at the midpoint of their lives, with death looming in every conversation. Add in the stress of their careers, relationships, families, friendships, & struggles with assimilation in America, and you may have too much. But we'll see how it settles eventually.
Sneaking in this ARC right before its publication date...
My #recommendsday pick deals with the challenges of immigration and the ludicrousness of the digital age. Follows 4 Russian immigrants to the US. Comes out next month from Hogarth. Don't miss it!
Really enjoying this ARC so far, I've teared up and laughed out loud, not even 100 pages in yet. 👍🏻
Not sure about this book...can't get into it ... Anyone read it and have an opinion on it?
Saturday night #bookbento. Just got our hands on this novel by an exciting writer!
