The Scribbly Man
The Scribbly Man: The Children of D'Hara, episode 1 | Terry Goodkind
4 posts | 7 read | 4 to read
From the internationally bestselling author of the Sword of Truth series comes a new Richard and Kahlan novella. "They are the monsters under the bed when you are little, the shape just caught out of the corner of your eye when you thought you were alone, the shadow of something in a dark corner that surprises you and then isn't there. They stop you dead with a knot of unexpected terror in the pit of your stomach. We have all seen fleeting glimpses of them. Never long enough to see them as I saw them, but it was them. I recognized it the instant I saw it. "We've all seen flashes of them, the dark shadow just out of sight. They could briefly terrify us before but never hurt us because they came from so far distant. They were never able to fully materialize in our world so we saw only transient glimpses of them, the shape of them if the light was just right, if the shadows were deep enough . . . if you were afraid enough. "I think that the star shift has brought us closer to their realm so that they now have the power to step into our world and hurt us." Kahlan Amnell.

Mehso-so

Something about this book just didn't capture my interest. It's a fine book with an interesting premise, but nothing about it felt unique to itself. I might have also felt so-so on the characters.
This was one of my recent #Roll100 picks, though I don't remember why it was on my list! @PuddleJumper

I had several #OctoberDailyDoodles to catch up on, so I settled in for some doodling while listening to the tagged book (which is one of my #Roll100 picks). I decided on a jumping spider for my spider prompt, and picked characters from Little Nemo, Sailor Moon, Final Space, and others for a few of the other prompts. #Inktober #BulletJournal

The library closed early tonight at 6:00! We're supposed to get about 9 inches of snow! Whoo hoo! ❄☃️❄☃️❄ You know what that means...more cuddly reading time! 💕📚 Also doesn't this book look simply gorgeous with the snowy background? 😍

DaveGreen7777 For once, we‘re not supposed to get too much snow in New England! 🥳 Well... not until the next storm on Thursday, when we‘re supposed to get 6-10 more inches of snow! 😩🌨 4y
Branwen @DaveGreen7777 I told you I would happily take the snow from you! 😁❄☃️ Well...apparently until Thursday! 😖 4y

Pickpick

I've been in a really bad reading slump over the last month, this novella helped bring me out of it.
This book was short and sweet, looking forward to the next.
