I made it about a third of the way. Book is too boring and sarcastic but has some good trivia sprinkled in it.

Ruthiella I read his book on James Bond and found it disappointing. Too much about Winder and not enough about Bond.

I have been listening to this audiobook off and on since November- the narrator is excellent. That said the Goodreads reviewers have their talons out for this one as not a researched history. It is not, it is a traveler answering the question of why he travels Germany. A self styled “Germaniac” this is full of “anecdotal Faceciousness”- wry and funny. That ends as the book does in 1933 when it is inappropriate in the face of messianic infantilism.

Did a little drinking today at our local German Town's Christkindlmarkt. Had great fun with my family and got to see lots of cool arts and crafts. Not to mention brought home lots of strudel! 😋
Now on to reading!!!!

julesG My daughter likes your leggins. But my 8y/o little German had a few complaints about your Christkindlmarkt. She noticed it's not German beer, not a glass or earthenware mug, and you're supposed to buy Stollen (some sort of fruit cake) not strudel. 😂😂😂😂 5y
