Ugh, this book was so beautifully written! I could literally feel like I was alongside the main character, traversing New Orleans city streets, eating lavish meals, and the like. The only downfall I can name was something repeatedly noted, that the vampires aren‘t seen as much as I assumed they would be; it definitely didn‘t deter from the story though. I‘m definitely excited to read the next book, as I was NOT expecting that ending!🧛🏻‍♂️💀📖

I‘m a little sad my dust jacket was beaten up when I received it, but that definitely didn‘t deter from the story! This beautifully weaves a romance into a story about growing up American AND ___; in this case American & Korean. I loved seeing how the familial dynamics played a HUGE role in our main character‘s decisions, be them good or bad. Another part towards the end took me by surprise & made me cry, as my own personal life was close to it.

I‘ve been pretty stressed the last two weeks (work related DRAMA) which has taken a toll on my reading as most days I was just a ball of anxiety & could only keep busy doing physical things, like walking, cleaning, reorganizing etc. I feel like I‘m just starting to calm down from it all,& I‘m immersed in this fun summery novel at the lake😎🌊 the nostalgia is real with this, as I used to spend summer days at my grandparents cottage by the lake📖😌
