Not my best month, the ongoing progression of That Virus has unsettled me. The month started off well with some Death In Paradise, and the Granta collection had some great pieces, but the other three novels were all a disappointment.

pickDefinitely the best of the Death In Paradise series so far. I think I may be a little in love with repressed, uptight Englishman DI Richard Poole! He and his team investigate a series of murders all of whom seem to have a connection with a 20-year-old jewellery heist. An enjoyable police procedural.
It‘s lines like this that made me love the original Death In Paradise series and the spin-off books. DI Richard Poole really is that English, uptight and repressed.

Death In #Paradise is a long-running show on British TV, set on a fictional Caribbean island. The series originally starred Ben Miller as Richard Poole, a stiff, reserved fish out of water in the relaxed Caribbean atmosphere. There have been several cast changes since then and the latest series was disappointing as a result. Robert Thorogood has written a series of books featuring the original characters.
