3/5⭐ I love the extremely dry humor. The journey of reading this series is just as important, if not even more so, than the destination. That's especially true for this book because the ending falls apart. It completely diverges from the adventure of the first 90% of the story and incorporates elements that aren't built up to or explained.

Picked this to read this solely based on its cover. Can't wait to dive it!

This was a very pleasant surprise after the rather disappointing second book! More fantasy and horror elements (of the Lovecraftian kind) and a story that actually felt like it was going somewhere. Still on the fence about whether you're supposed to like Cabal or not, though, which is strange, maybe, after three books?
Book 11 for #sumtbreadathon

I read as much as I could this weekend for the #24in48 readathon, and made it to a little over 9 hours. Maybe next time the readathon will happen in a weekend when I have nothing else to do and I can actually make it to 24 hours!

It took me awhile to get to it but I enjoyed the plot more than Johannes Cabal: The Detective and I figured out the ending before I finished it thanks to the title of the fourth book.
