I have always loved Steve berry‘s books. They have plenty of action but what I love most is how the author explains what points were real and what points he twisted into fiction. I always end up stopping and looking up particular facts or places or people. I always learn something from@his books

So many #Paris read options to choose today but chose this one.

Love the Cotton Malone series but this is quite a seminal book in the series as we lose an important central character 😢

I do so love the Cotton Malone series. This was a great one to listen while driving to and from the lake. Definitely enough plotting and action going on to keep me a wake for the drive. I‘m a little sad that Cassiopeia wasn‘t in this one, but many of the other standard characters made an appearance. I wasn‘t a super fan of the ending because it made me tear up and I wasn‘t prepared for that with these books. But a definite pick for sure!

After all that was the whole idea. Scare the people into obeying - then extract profit from their fear. The better solution was the simplest. Invent the fear...thankfully in today's world, a credible enemy existed and had already galvanised public sentiment. Terrorism.'

War is a progressive force, naturally generating that which would not otherwise have taken place. Free thinking and innovation are but two of the many positive aspects that war creates.

An interesting view point! Do you agree?

Have started book 5 in the Cotton Malone Series by Steve Berry for a Group Read I am leading over the next six days. This one links to Egypt, Napoleon and some Second World War treasure which was taken to Corsica by the look of it (from the opening 2 or 3 chapters).
