Starting another Christmas romance. Love this author and her Christmas stories.
Simply adorable. I had to make a quick getaway during my lunch break so I could finish it. A perfect Christmas romance. Loved every minute of it!
Nonononononononoyesnonononono. I couldn‘t read this book before bed and if I did, I had to watch some happy show like Lizzie McGuire (thanks Disney+). So many twists and turns. I hated it, but loved it. It was terrifyingly good. Can‘t wait to discuss with my book club.
Saturday #bookreport. I‘ve been a little MIA from Litsy these past couple of weeks with work and general life stuff, but I‘m jumping back in today. I finished the Vampire Hunter book. It was good, not great. I do love books that take fiction and twist real life events into the unimaginable. My Lovely Wife is scarring the pants off me. I can‘t read it before bed. Twisted is my audiobook that is fun, light and drama filled to offset the others.
Woah. I couldn‘t put this one down because I just had to know how it was going to end. A little predictable at times and I wish the ending would have been a little more satisfying, but overall, it was a good, fast-paced read. I did like that the chapters flipped back and forth between present and past and by the end what was originally the present became the past.
My #weeklyforecast plus my Halloween cat. The tagged book is my current audiobook. Abraham Lincoln has been on my tbr forever and just happened to be on display at the library, so I thought with Halloween being this week, it was time to read it. I‘m hoping to get to Night Film (another #newyearwhodis book) but may not make it this week. While not on a display, it managed to catch my eye as I was walking to another section of the library.
Finished this one while drinking my coffee this morning. I read this book slowly as instructed by my brother in law and I‘m glad I did. It definitely opens your mind to thinking differently. I‘ve made some good notes and hope to make some small changes to lead a less stressful life. The only compliant I have is the last chapter. I feel that it was put in just because the book needed an ending. I don‘t feel it added much value.
I think I managed to hate every character in this book at one point. With that being said, I still enjoyed it. It‘s an easy read (or easy listen) and just like I imagined it to be. A little predictable, but that doesn‘t mean it‘s a bad book. I‘m definitely glad I read it. It‘s been on my tbr for years.
Love love love love. Times one thousand. I can‘t wait until the third book comes out in February. I can still get a little lost with all the different names, but it‘s such an amazing story that it just doesn‘t matter! I can‘t recommend this series enough!
#unpopularopinion and I think it was because I tried the audiobook first. The narrator made Sunny so whiny (which I think she might be but not to the extent the narrator made her out to be.) Also, the audiobook doesn‘t tell you that at the end of the chapters, you‘re reading excerpts from another book in this world. I felt confused and when I received the ebook, I only made it about halfway through before bailing.
1. I‘m so bad a picking favorites, so these first two are hard - Outlander
3. Nope. My plate is full with other sports.
4. We are grilling out today for football
5. Not really. He‘ll read books to help him fix things. He‘s more of a hands on, do things type of guy
I am thankful to my new book club for opening me up to a masterpiece. I haven‘t read anything by the author before, but he has such a way of words that it was so hard not to feel like you were in the story. There were some hard parts to read, but I felt the ending fit the book. It also satisfies the last prompt for #booked2019 for me #pocmcparanormal. Hiram has a power that is core to the book, but it‘s not understood until almost the end.
Made a trip to the library today to grab a Halloween book or two and couldn‘t stop ourselves. We also found out that our library system is doing a program for 1000 books before Kindergarten. We‘ve signed up and already have our first book read! #raisingreaders
Finished book four of my re-read. It took me so long, I‘ve managed to lose the dust cover. It‘s still an amazing book. So full of details and life. My hope is to have book five read before the end of the year in preparation of season five of the show coming out in February. In my original read of the series, I only made it through book six, so here‘s to a few more re-reads then on to new to me ones!
I met Kristin Hannah tonight! She is so awesome. Her answers to questions felt honest and genuine. She took time to sign each book, take pictures and talk to each person. It was a great night!
Soaking up the first day of fall! To be honest, I‘ve had these mugs out since 9/1.
My vacation reads plus a download on my phone from the library. It‘s nap time for everyone but me so I can get some reading done!
This wasn‘t a great week for me. Being on call for Labor Day really wore me out. I didn‘t make it to the gym, but I did eat a little better and had electronics turned off earlier. I have vacation this week, so here‘s to a better week! #bfcr3 #smallsteppers
I‘m behind on the times, but I‘ve finally read this one and loved it! I hope to rent the movie and watch it after my daughter goes to bed tonight. If you haven‘t listened to the audiobook, you must put it on your to-do list.
Not my best week, but I still feel pretty good about it. I‘m on call this week, so that always makes it so much harder to turn electronics off, meal prep and exercise without getting interrupted. I did up my goal to six books, which is blowing my mind a bit. I‘ve always been a reader, but this year I‘ve really surprised myself. I‘ve already beat my goodreads goal of 35 books, which was 2 more books than I read last year #bfcr3 #smallsteppers
I think I have a new favorite author to add to the list. What an incredible book that pulled me in from the beginning. It was so emotional and I really feel the way she told the story from different view points heightened the emotion. I couldn‘t quite figure out how I should feel because each view point made sense. Love love love and highly recommend!
1. I think I‘ll up my goal to 6 books to challenge myself more
2. My daughter started a mommy and me gymnastics class, so I‘m giving that 0.5 points since I had to chase after her 😂
3. I slept so good this week!
4. My meal prepping skills were terrible this week. Really going to focus on this one next week
I was a little lost at the beginning, but once I read more, the book really piqued my interest. It was a well thought out book that had me guessing until the end. It‘s also devastating to read about this true tragedy. #booked2019 #femaledetective #newyearwhodis
Another great one by Taylor Jenkins Reid. I think she may now be one of my favorites. I loved the format of this book. The interview style wasn‘t something I‘ve read before and it was perfect. I didn‘t grow up in the 70s, but my parents are avid fans of classic rock n roll, so, therefore, I am too. I‘m using this one for #bookaboutaddiction because there were a lot of different forms of addiction in this book. #booked2019
A hard week for me. We said goodbye to our cat of nine years. It was a week of vet visits before the decision was made, so I didn‘t make time for workouts and we ate out quite a bit. I did get to finish one paperback and audiobook. Both were very good. Here‘s to a new week! #bfcr3 #smallsteppers
Starting this one tonight per my brother in law‘s recommendation. He told me to read it slow and really think about it as I read it. I told him I would shoot for a small section each night before bed.
This is listed as a romance, but I feel like it‘s much more than that. This book is much more emotional than I usually read. It‘s a #soldiersstory, plus has a character that has muscular dystrophy and one that is being abused. I liked the way the story began before the solider went to war, spent a little time with him during the war and then mostly focused on the aftermath and dealing with tragedy. #booked2019
Love, love, love. It‘s taking everything in me not to run to Barnes & Noble to buy the next book (I want to support my local bookstore, which is closed.) Patience is a virtue. While I was slightly confused with all of the different names to start, I just couldn‘t put it down! Please note, there‘s a glossary in the back. I loved the magic, the characters& the intense, multiple story lines . #booked2019 #muslimauthor #newyearwhodis
This week was a little bit of a blur. I‘ve now realized I need a better tracking system for my goals. I‘m working on finishing this book (hopefully today) and working on an audiobook as well. I‘m really happy with getting my three workouts in. I‘m on call this week and it an be challenging to complete workouts, but I did it! Here‘s to starting strong for next week! #bfcr3 #smallsteppers
I‘ve signed up for #bfcr3 and am super excited to start tomorrow! My gym is open from 1-4, which is when my daughter naps, so hopefully I can kickstart with a kickboxing workout! I‘m really looking forward to challenging myself on turning off my electronics before bed. I‘ve done it in the past and I slept so much better (not entirely sure why I stopped!)
