Terry Flynt is a struggling legal clerk, desperately trying to get promoted. And then he is given the biggest opportunity of his career: to help defend a millionaire accused of murdering a woman in his hotel suite. The only problem is that the accused man, Vernon James, turns out to be not only someone he knows, but someone he loathes. This case could potentially make Terry's career, but how can he defend a former friend who betrayed him so badly? With the trial date looming, Terry delves deeper into Vernon's life and is forced to confront secrets from their shared past that could have devastating consequences for them both. This isn‘t usually the kind of book I like to read; but that didn‘t stop me from enjoying all the conspiracies, backstabbing, sneakiness and crime! I can‘t really say too much about this book without giving something of the story away. But I‘m always in awe when I read a book like this. Simply because I can‘t get my thoughts in a straight enough line to properly review a book, let alone write one. 😄 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

23 BoTM books to read. 🤦🏻‍♀️ it should be 24 but I did in fact read one of my selections and that was “Into the Water”. I‘ll try and fit them all into June but I‘m almost 100% positive that some of them will spill into July.

Chellebearss That‘s a great list! Have fun 😃 7y
Literary_Siren @Chellebearss I‘m sure I will! I don‘t think there is a single book on there that I‘ve heard anything bad about. So hopefully they will be quick reads! 7y

My first month doing Book of the Month and I'm so excited I added an extra book and squeaked at my desk.

Donna_sBookMinute Sounds like Terry needs to leave the past behind. But who knows what twists and turns the plot will take? 9y
