A very sepia book haul 📚😂

Oh look at this challenge I somehow haven't been paying attention to! #marchintoreading day 29 #bookbag I have A LOT of bookish tote bags and these are my faves. The one with Neil's face has a quote on the back that says "We have an obligation to imagine." The @strandbookstore Make America Read Again bag has my fave bookish pins on it! Read Or Die tote from @bookriot ??☠️
🌟🌟🌟🌟 I really loved Gaiman's voice in these classic myths, my particular favorites were the wall and the poetry ones. I can't help but miss so many myths that are lost to time that we will never read - Gaiman points this out himself in his introduction. My only gripe is the last myth - of Ragnarok - is written in varying tenses from one sentence to the next. From a historical perspective I get it, it just took away from the enjoyability of it.
Downloaded some audiobooks for my commutes this week while knitting. I'm LOVING both the story and narration performance of A Natural History of Dragons!
My #funfridayphoto is a little bit of a fudge... my iPad case is covered in flowers so no matter what I'm currently reading, there's a flower on the cover!
Deepening my intuition lately 😌
Hanging out drinking and reading at #SilentBookClub and LOVING Bitch Planet so far!
Read like a bitch.
This is my reading list tonight for NYC's chapter of #SilentBookClub See some of you there?
These are all the things that make me happy right now! Books, visiting @strandbookstore and the library, and #BoTM. This is just a sample of my personal post-election reading list. Have any books to suggest? Let me know in the comments! #HereForTheBooks
Gods help me stay off the internet for the rest of the night! #HereForTheBooks
After the first story I just couldn't. I picked this up on a recommendation from The Guardian as a "Book to give you hope" but I just can't see that, and I just can't see past the very tired male literary perspective and style.
????REALLY enjoyed this book! Schwab described her book best, as "Sin City PLUS Romeo and Juliet MINUS the romance PLUS monsters!" And I can confirm that it's accurate. Schwab is rapidly becoming one of my favorite authors ?
Had a wonderful conversation with @todd today at the @outofprint booth at #NYCC! Thanks again for working on such a great app for this bookish community! #NYCCBookNerd
Here's my #bookhaul. In honor of #bannedbooksweek I picked up The Westing Game which I somehow have never read! Thanks for always having the goods @strandbookstore
I tried really hard, 105 pages, and I just couldn't get past the narrator's style. I found the plot to be very interesting but the style was just too off putting for me to push through. Life's too short, let's move on!
Another weekend, another book on the boat!
I loved the art style of this 1st volume, especially all the underwater-scapes with monstrous eels & leviathan and the ships & suits these future humans use. I enjoyed the overall message of hope & persistence, but was put off at times by the story, especially the language & the unnecessarily scantily-clad women. Even in a far-flung future world that didn't ring true for me. Probably won't continue with the series, but don't regret picking this up
My #FunFridayPhoto book with a character I identify with... Carolyn from The Library At Mount Char. I got very strong Buffy vibes from Carolyn and her actions at times, that's really all I need! I was the only person in my book club to closely identify with Carolyn, everyone else disliked her or didn't want to be like her 🤔 @Liberty
"There must be something in books, something we can‘t imagine, to make a woman stay in a burning house; there must be something there. You don‘t stay for nothing."
Happy #NationalBookLoversDay!
Love me some #bookmail! #bookofthemonthclub
I've been so distracted with Pokemon GO and work that I've neglected reading and my Litsy account lately.
Found this in The Strand yesterday, the art reminds me incredibly much of Transistor and has a cool plot line. Hoping it lives up to my expectations! #FridayReads
#FunFridayPhoto! My go to rereadable and most favorite book of all time is Stardust by Neil Gaiman! I love it so much I got a quote tattooed! @Liberty
I think pairing this with German food makes sense?
Happy new book day! I love everything Gaiman, so here we are.
I think this is a pretty accurate representation of my favorite books I read in the first half of 2016! Here's to more great books for the rest of the year.
I just love this bookmark I snagged at NYCC last year. Oh, and I'm loving The Name Of The Wind too 🙃
I really enjoyed this one and can't wait to talk about it in my physical book club and with you all in the July @Litsybookclub !
Silent Book Club at The Ludlow! Come read and drink with us if you're in NYC!
Fun Friday photo! @Liberty I like to read fantasy with some magic and rebellious/adventurous/dangerous women like Carolyn and Lila.
Glad I got to start this on the subway today! I'm not even 50 pages in and I'm really liking it.
Last minute #TBRTuesday
I managed to convince my book club to read The Girls for our July book!
Perfect.
Ahahaha! This book is highly readable and I'm really enjoying it. Taking it to the beach this week! 🌴🏖☀️
Everyone uses their bookcases for flasks and loose art, right? Right?
Gonna pick this gem of a book back up after I finish today's read!
If you haven't already, head over to @Litsybookclub to nominate/vote for the July book! My vote is The Girls!
Lots of great recs on this page!
A favorite, so much so that I got it tattooed 😊
I want to rewatch Pacific Rim and read more books that touch on first contact/we are not alone reactions. I really enjoyed this book and will def read the next one when it comes out!
Happy new books day!! Lookit what just arrived, I can't wait to get into these right meow!
"She had already been to hell. One prayer more or less wouldn't make any difference." ????
I read so slow lately; maybe I just don't want this book to be over yet or maybe I just love looking at the cover.
Alternatively captioned: Today's weather was perfect for a book selfie outside! (Check that RBF tho)
I can't wait a whole week for this book's pub date. Anyone want to donate an early copy over here??
