Blood Rights
Blood Rights | Kristen Painter
Gothic fantasy meets vampire fiction in this debut novel from Kristen Painter - full of politics, intrigue, and blood. Born into a life of secrets and service, Chrysabelle's body bears the telltale marks of a comarr -- a special race of humans bred to feed vampire nobility. When her patron is murdered, she becomes the prime suspect, which sends her running into the mortal world...and into the arms of Malkolm, an outcast vampire cursed to kill every being from whom he drinks. Now, Chrysabelle and Malkolm must work together to stop a plot to merge the mortal and supernatural worlds. If they fail, a chaos unlike anything anyone has ever seen will threaten to reign.

And going on with my paranormal reading funk, this was so boring it wasn't for me either.

I find myself without much of an opinion on this one. There were aspects I enjoyed (the caste system, the specific set of humans used for blood) but much of the book was something forgettable. I liked Crysbelle and her kickass fighting skills, but was indifferent to Mal and his struggle to keep from drinking human blood. ⭐️⭐️

Working my way through this one today. It's okay. I find my attention wandering more often than not though. It has a lot of interesting aspects but also a lot of recycled vampire tropes that I have read a ton of already.

Totally awesome and kick ass story with a strong female and a handsome yet dangerous male in the main characters. Can't wait for the next one!
