What an excellent collection of poetry!!!
Sometimes you just want to read a quick little book of feminist poetry.
I have love all her collections! My fave this time were the poems that were advice from the fairy godmother.
This was my first time reading a collection of poetry and work from this author. I really connected with the poems in the first half and a few in the second half. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that struggles with these issues or just wants to read some empowering poetry.
I needed this today after only being on Facebook for a few minutes.
“You are limitless, you can have the lipstick, you can have the sword.“
“He may have a pretty face, but that doesn't men he isn't dangerous.“
“Being called fat is not an insult. being called skinny is not a compliment. they are just sizes.“
“My value doesn't go down when my weight goes up.“
“Its okay if you don't think i'm fit to be the queen to your king - there are so any more important things to be.“
My review of this book can be found on my Youtube Vlog at:

Enjoy!
I love this poetry collection. amanda lovelace is one of my favorite poets. I've been going back through the work of hers I enjoy and reading what's new for #nationalpoetrymonth.
This is the most hopeful Amanda Lovelace book I‘ve read. Even the palette used for the illustrations (blue & black) seems to indicate she‘s found some peace. I also like the conceit, in the first section, of having the narrator say something that might show she cares too much what others think then having the fairy godmother reply as the voice of reason. I like this illustration and the two lines above it.
Tonight‘s reading. I think I‘m more tired at the end of a week working from home than I was when I went to the library!
What an inspiring read!
