This book was so good. I couldn‘t put it down. If I had played my cards right I could have read it in one sitting. The character development was amazing and I learned so much about deaf culture. One of the best I‘ve read this year so far.

LiteraryinLawrence Can‘t wait to start my copy soon! 5d

I have never been this addicted to an audio book. I couldn‘t stop listening! It was very culture rich which I loved and a cute little romance.

The prose is this book was beautiful- haunting - so much metaphor there was a part of me that wanted to know what she was talking about but it wouldn‘t have been as powerful

This is from the Pen/Faulkner Longlist. I could have read it in one sitting it was super good! A fast paced mystery: white men linked to past lynchings start getting murdered in ritualistic fashion. The author kept me on the edge of my seat and surprisingly, despite the seriousness, made me laugh with his dry humor many times.

I found myself so into this book I lost track of time. It was a beautifully written memoir of a Chinese family‘s immigration to American. It was sad and inspiring but just shows how poorly we treat immigrants.

Sorry just noticed I got tagged! So my late questions!Yes! American Born Chinese, the entire Harry Potter series, To Kill a Mockingbird, any Sarah Maas book 😜. Yes! (Librarian rant) the covers are designed to peak the interest fo those who will like that type of book. The cover tells you a lot about the book like the tone My book that reminds me of nature would be The Alchemist by Paulo Coehlo

Maybe I‘m just emotional lately but this book got to me. Stories about vulnerability and shame from the Black experience. Laverne Cox, Jasón Reynolds, and so many wrote harrowing essays that just shook me. This book was written for Black people (as it should be) but I think white people need to listen to this for empathy and understanding.

I‘ve been reading a lot of j and teen books this year while I finish up my masters. This one was so good. It showed different Indian perspectives under British rule and how racist views of Indians were brought across seas in a very age appropriate way. Not only that but it was just a good story keeping you on your toes. I will be book talking A LOT!

Karisa Thanks for posting this! Your review had me checking out a copy on Libby. You‘re so right! It‘s a wonderful read! Going to buy a copy for my classroom and recommend it to our school library. 💗 11mo
