National Poetry Month: Day 30! 📖❤

This is a most fitting poem for today! 😁

I can't believe it's the end of April today! I've really enjoyed sharing poems with you all this month! 💕

Love: Ten Poems | Pablo Neruda

National Poetry Month: Day 29! 📖❤

Out of the Neruda poems that I've read, this has always been my favorite. In fact I've even used it in a couple different fan fiction stories that I've written in the past! Don't even ask. It's just as cringey as it sounds! 🙊🙈😂

National Poetry Month: Day 28! 📖❤

I think this is the first Millay poem I've highlighted this month! I really love her poems, and she led such an interesting life! If you ever get the chance to read her biography, you should do so because it's utterly fascinating!

KCofKaysville @Branwen I've picked up a book of her selected poetry, but have not read them yet. 7mo

National Poetry Month: Day 26! 📖❤

Another of Plath's early poems that I quite like! The imagery is hypnotic! 😍

#NationalPoetryMonth Day 24: Arthur Sze makes my mind expand like few other contemporary poets are able to. Also, my heart. Link to full poem:

Nute Wow! The intensity displayed here is mind boggling! Spending some time with this now. 7mo
vivastory @Nute I'm so glad to hear that it grabbed your attention! The first Sze book I read was Quipu & I was mesmerized by how he based the structure of the book on the title itself. He is one of my favorite idea driven poets because he doesn't get lost in the conceptual/philosophical side of his subjects & always has a finger on the emotional side too. 7mo

National Poetry Month: Day 25! 📖❤

When I first read this poem by William Carlos Williams, years ago, I thought it was so dumb. I didn't like it's simplicity and what I perceived to be pointlessness. But I'll be damned if it didn't get in my head and wouldn't let me stop thinking about it! Now, it's a favorite of mine! And I think of it every time I'm eating plums, which is one of my favorite summer fruits!

slategreyskies I had a similar reaction when I first heard this. I just didn‘t get it. Now it‘s one of my favorites as well. I can still hear it being read to me by my poetry mentor. He died years ago, but the memory of him reading this poem to one of our classes stays with me as one of my cherished memories. Truly a beautifully sweet poem. 🥰 7mo
Branwen @slategreyskies Awww, what a great association to have with this poem! 💕 7mo
