How to Fall
How to Fall: A Novel | Jane Casey
5 posts | 5 read | 10 to read
Sixteen-year-old Jess Tennant has never met any of her relatives, until her mom suddenly drags her out of London to spend the summer in the tiny English town where her family's from. Her mom's decision is surprising, but even more surprising is the town's reaction to Jess. Everywhere she goes, people look at her like they've seen a ghost. In a way, they haveshe looks just like her cousin Freya, who died shortly before Jess came to town. Jess immediately feels a strange connection to Freya, whom she never got to meet alive. But the more Jess learns about the secrets Freya was keeping while she was alive, the more suspicious Freya's death starts to look. One thing is for sure: this will be anything but the safe, boring summer in the country Jess was expecting. Beloved author Jane Casey breaks new ground with How to Fall, a thrilling and insightfully written mystery.

Jane never disappoints! An excellent YA book, first in the series. Jess moves with her mother for the summer to the small town where her mother grew up. Her cousin died a year ago, apparently committed suicide, unless it was an accident, or was it...? Jess gets to know all the people in the small town, and she realizes people can‘t be trusted. Who killed her cousin? Jess is convinced it wasn‘t suicide. Worth a read!

Port Sentinel near Devon UK - Jane Casey can write YA too! 16 year old Jessica Tennant and her mom holiday in her mom‘s hometown where Jess‘ cousin, Freya, was murdered last year. Jess is bound and determined to find out who did it but will be putting herself at risk. Well-developed characters. Gripping book and hard to put down. Surprise twist and cliffhanger at the end makes you look forward to the next book. Recommend

I knew there had to be a reason for my sick leave (other than the inflammation). The postman just brought me all these books! OMG, he has no clue how happy he just made me! I only have about 800 unread physical books, and 1000 ebooks. = I was seriously running out of reading material! Photobombed by Mr Terrier, of course.

TheSpineView Love getting book mail! I also have the kind of TBR list and like you I just keep adding to it. 5y
Crazeedi Nice collection of books you got! Enjoy choosing what to read next🥰 5y
Suet624 So fun to get books no matter how many I have crammed in the closets, oven and dishwasher. 5y

My first name is her last name and I had to highlight this series. I love a good straight up teen mystery with nothing mystical or fantastic about it but good ones are hard to find. I absolutely loved this one. It wasn't perfect but Jess and her crew are easy to fall for and the writing and pacing are great. In the third book JC even made a horrible character sympathetic! No word on book 4 and I weep inside about it. #riotgrams

Bette Thanks, sounds good! 8y
