A Second Chance Road Trip for Christmas (Holidays with the Wongs, Book 2)
A Second Chance Road Trip for Christmas (Holidays with the Wongs, Book 2) | Jackie Lau
6 posts | 7 read | 2 to read
Greg Wong hates when things don’t go according to plan, so he definitely doesn’t appreciate it when his mother insists he drive Tasha Edwards back to Mosquito Bay for the Christmas holidays. He likes peace and quiet when he’s in the car, and that’s the opposite of what he’ll get with Tasha, his high school sweetheart. The first woman he ever loved.
Not that he has feelings for her now. Of course not. Though while he’s trying not to smile at her laughter and terrible singing, he can’t help noticing how beautiful she is.
And then his plans veer further off course when a snowstorm forces them to spend the night in an unheated motel room with only one bed…

Looking forward to all the holiday reads for my #WinterReadathon goals! I read this lovely Jackie Lau book a few years ago. I may re-read it for the readathon.

I found a Tim Hortons appearance for @Lindy ! Timbits play a large role later in the chapter, too.

Unfortunately, the book lacks Jackie Lau‘s usual sparkle. It wasn‘t nearly as funny as the previous entry in the Holidays With the Wongs series, and I never got a good sense of either character. Sadness.

Lindy Thanks for looking out for these! 😘 5y

I enjoyed this 2nd holiday with the Wongs. This time it was oldest son, Greg‘s turn to feel the full effect of his Mum‘s matchmaking (with lots of encouragement from his Dad and Grandparents & some teasing from his brothers) when she volunteers him to drive his high school girlfriend home for the holidays (they both live in Toronto but haven‘t crossed paths for 15 years) - there‘s a snow storm, a hotel room with only 1 bed & no heating...

This is the second Jackie Lau novella I have read in in 24hrs this woman clearly knows how to do a holiday novella. Two childhood sweethearts reconnecting over the holidays after meddling parents pressure them into carpooling home for the holidays. A snow storm forces them to seek for shelter for the night. If you like forced proximity, friends to lovers, second chance romances, and jelly donuts this is the Christmas novella for you! #romance
