Honeymoon Alone is told through the lens of Lucy Gray - a third grade teacher who's 29 and has never really been away from home. Lucy suffers a public humiliation at her sister's wedding, and on a whim (and after some bad advice from a wedding psychic), she breaks away from her quiet life for a vacation through London and Paris - right during the holidays. It all seems fun and full of adventure until she unwittingly winds up in the middle of a fake marriage and an international crime. Her family is overbearing, over-involved in her life, and one of Lucy's goals in leaving is to discover who she can be without all the noise of her family and her life. She meets a cast of interesting characters at the exclusive honeymoon resort she winds up staying in in London, including an old high school friend who she once couldn't stand. He's now quite handsome and charming - and very friendly to her. She draws the attention of the hotel's owner who suspects she is not who she says she is- and in his quest to learn the truth, the two find themselves in each other's company more than either would like. Ultimately a few small misunderstandings lead to a big blow-up that finds Lucy as a suspect in an international scandal. Will she find love? More importantly, will she stay out of jail?

Pickpick

After discovering that her newlywed sister didn‘t cancel her backup reservation at The Chaizer London, a premium honeymoon hotel, Lucy decides this is just the sort of sign the wedding psychic told her to stop ignoring. She's 26, single, & had never been anywhere. While in London, Lucy encounters a familiar face, an annoying hotel concierge, a few new acquaintances, and a possible a love interest during her time in jolly ol‘ London ⬇️

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick ⬆️until a criminal investigation hits a little too close to her home away from home. The story feels like a love letter to London and moves along at a good pace, even if Lucy‘s family is rather annoying and the staff at this supposed premier hotel feel totally unprofessional. This was fun! This is a title checked off both #bookspinbingo & the #netgalleyreviewathon @TheAromaofBooks @sprainedbrain

Do I want to be sitting at the car dealership during a pandemic? No.
Is my car overdue for an oil change and recall work? Absolutely yes.

At least I can read!

TheAromaofBooks When I got new tires last month, they had me stay in the car the entire time they were installing them! 4y
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick @TheAromaofBooks This waiting area was pretty well spaced out (with comfy seats!) And when I got in my car, they had plastic coverings on the seat & steering wheel. 4y
