Famous Five: Five Go To Mystery Moor
Famous Five: Five Go To Mystery Moor | Enid Blyton
4 posts | 12 read | 1 to read
Julian, Dick, Anne, George and Timmy the dog find excitement and adventure wherever they go in Enid Blyton's most popular series. In book thirteen, the Famous Five find out about something dangerous out in Mystery Moor. They'll have to risk the treacherous mists and follow the trail if they want to find what's lurking in the shadows. Do they know what they've let themselves in for? The text in this edition has been sensitively edited for today's reader and is unillustrated.

This book is definitely a product of its time in terms of the language used. But my real problem with it is that all of the action took place in the last three chapters and the mystery was resolved immediately.

What says - “lived through a global pandemic” like using your cloth mask collection to fill in the gaps in a box of books? 🤔

Aims42 That‘s a great idea!! 🤯🤩 9mo

Excited to hear mention of ginger beer in this one! And a ‘boyish‘ girl who George hates! No-one actually tries to poison Timmy, but someone does give him a pretty good bang on the head, so I think that counts! The boys also near orgasm at sleeping on hay, so I think that counts for ‘Heather makes a pleasing bed.‘

1. Peanuts books, Famous Five, Secret Seven - I‘m sure there were others before that, but I really can‘t remember.
2. Thatcher happened. Miners strikes. And Live Aid.
3. Honey and lemon. Vick.
4. Hello @Debblyliz - would you like to join in?

I don‘t feel like I‘ve done one of these in ages! Thanks for the prompts 😊
