Sargar114 Interesting read, thanks for sharing. I‘m definitely trying to raise readers in my two boys! 3y
rwmg Yes, I think the article us right. Last time I was in the children's section of my local bookshop, most of the books for 7 year olds and up looked as if they were meant for girls rather than boys. And I am saying this as one who would have been put off at that age by anything that was blatantly marketed as for boys. 3y
GingerAntics But somehow, a large group of people (in some places the majority of people) believe boys are smarter than girls. Funny how that works out. 3y

Riveted_Reader_Melissa That was a great article! Thank you so much for sharing it. 3y
Ruthiella That was fascinating. Thanks! 3y
GingerAntics This goes beyond pop culture, sadly. I see it in the assignments students are assigned where I work (it‘s college level and we‘re still doing “good guys” and “bad guys”). It‘s even in our online safety training at work. Cyber criminals are “the bad guys that want to get into your organisation‘s systems.” 🤦🏼‍♀️ (edited) 3y
ImperfectCJ That is so interesting! I'm looking forward to discussing it with my teen and tween. Thank you for sharing! 3y
Larkken Interesting. However, seems to ignore the fact that many of the modern good v evil movies reuse mythological plots with humans in the place of the gods; and gods were rarely “good”. Reframing modern superhero movies in a Prometheus vs the Olympians way feels as apt, if no less nationalistic. 3y
