Mehso-so

Reminiscent of Mary Pope Osborne's Magic Tree House series, this book is one in a collection about two children who go on educational and often death-defying adventures while navigating the challenges of middle school and family life. Thinking about the universe always triggers my existentialism and the storyline is difficult to swallow, but it's not a bad introduction to some thorny physics...for kids. My 11-year-old seems to be enjoying it.

2017, Book 21 "If this is the Large Hardon Collider," George continued, "that means we're underground. That thing is probably some kind of detector wrapped around the tube where the protons collide." In the spooky quiet by the great detector, both children imagined they could hear the bomb ticking down the last few minutes until it exploded, destroying humanity's greatest ever experiment and large number of human lives.
