It held my interest and the writing style was unique, but I had a hard time not judging the author. I don't understand why he's not in jail for prior knowledge of certain crimes, including child trafficking. He also referred to the overdose death of a friend as "whoopsie." I understand that when you are in the midst of active addiction, morals get blurred, but he showed no remorse.
2nd book read for #OutstandingOctober @Andrew65

@GondorGirl #GiGiBookBox

You have no idea what I would give to be in New York City in the 80s-90s just one day and hang out with the original Club Kidz 🙌😂 I'm a weirdo, just let me have my fantasy day in gritty New York

GondorGirl That sounds like fun! 🎉 6y

this marks the end of my clubkid obsession, I feel. most of the book is already known thru movies and documentaries. the part about Mavis is new. I liked hearing more about Freeze, and the book painted a different picture of him than any documentary.
James' style is overdramatic and relies heavily on italics, bold, and capslock. he'd be a hit on tumblr.
a nice, fast read, especially fast if you've got prior knowledge.

I'm calling this my take on #unreliablenarrators not because I think St.James did any lying but because the whole motley cast of people involved in this story were strung out or high the whole time it was happening. Seems to me that'd make for some potential unreliability. #maybookflowers
