Listening to this audiobook again. I just loved it the first time. It really made me consider so many things about interacting with the world. I first listened to it just after Braiding Sweetgrass and they went together beautifully.

Pickpick

The English major in me really appreciated the YA adaptation here - I'm too intimidated to pick up the adult version! Very factual and accessible, and the guide for how to make changes in your own life at the end was reasonable and necessary. #yanonfiction

Catherine_Willoughby Similar argument is happening here locally. Due to current restrictions many local families are starving, parents restricting food so kids can eat and the homeless can't access food or limited meals through local charities that provide meals. The local asylum provision service, many residents can work but are complaining about their free food ( local food) . Going on hunger strike. Food going to waste. Many families would gladly take the food ! 4y
alisiakae I highlighted this quite too when I read it! 4y
TrishB @4thhouseontheleft it‘s so true 😞 but whilst the world is run on profit. 4y
TrishB @Catherine_Willoughby there are so many sad stories of hunger 😞 4y
TrishB @eanderson @Suet624 @kspenmoll there were some good thinking points in the book! 4y

Was looking up Jahren's earlier book, Lab Girl, for this prompt, when I realised her new book is on Overdrive ;D

Both on TBR, tagged on hold

Suet624 I‘m so glad she wrote another book. Lab Girl was so good. 5y
BookishMe @Suet624 absolutely! She made science so relatable and her own story, her friendship made it unforgettable. 5y
Suet624 @BookishMe exactly. 💕 5y
