13 posts | 11 read | 5 to read
Serving up more than just coffee and tea, Cat's Caf provides its cast of adorable characters a gentle, supportive space and a hefty serving of the warm and floofies. Welcome to Cat's Caf, a neighborhood coffee shop where all are welcome! Based on the popular webcomic, Cat's Caf introduces readers to the adorable denizens of this world. There's Penguin, who has a bit of a coffee problem; Rabbit, whose anxiety sometimes overwhelms him; Axolotl, whose confidence inspires his friends; the always-supportive Cat, who provides hot drinks made with love and a supportive ear for anyone's troubles; and many, many more. With a sensitive take on real issues and a gentle, positive outlook, Cat's Caf is about the power of acceptance, friendship, and love ... and delicious cups of coffee.

As an LGBTQIA+ woman with queer, trans, and nonbinary family and friends, Muslim family, family at risk of pregnancy complications, and other at risk friends and family, as a person invested in education and literacy, as a person who wants marginalized communities to be safe and thrive... And so many other factors, it's been high emotions for the last few days. Mostly fear, sorrow, and anger. But also determination to keep making (...)

Kenyazero (...) a difference, taking positive strides forward, and creating and elevating beauty in the world. I picked Cat's Cafe for this post because its creator posted a video explaining that she made these comics in response to the 2016 election to bring something positive and uplifting into the world. 1w

Fun little collection of comics showing snippets of day to day life in this animal neighborhood. Cat's cafe is the hub of a community full of friendships and mutual support, whether it be for Penguin's coffee addiction, Rabbit's anxiety, or Snake's loneliness.
Definitely a happiness booster ☺️

Pure sunshine in my eyeballs.
Great emotional intelligence, calling in characters in a supportive way, reminding them to ask for help, and even that it's okay not to be okay; wholesome self-care/life advice, dealing with depression and anxiety and self-esteem. Per the author bio: 'sensitive exploration of mental-health issues'.
Oh, and absolutely every character is completely adorable.
Going to go get the next in the series right away!

Absolutely wonderful! These comics are so sweet and so self-care oriented. They're incredibly charming and when they weren't making me feel warm and fuzzy, they had me grinning and giggling. If you've been having a hard time recently or just need a break, treat yourself to this sweet collection. #Comic #SelfCare #Cat #Coffee

As a cat and coffee lover, I was definitely drawn in just from the concept. Each character was unique and fun but also had some personal struggles that they work through. It was very encouraging to see that the characters help each other through those by being positive and supportive in subtle ways. Certainly a lot of self and peer affirmations. Also, I recommended my local library buy this book, and they did, and I was the first to read it!! 🤓

This ended up being about 2 stars for me. I‘d you like coffee you might like it better. The artwork is cute. The characters are cute. The message is cute. It‘s all a bit too cute. Overall an easy read about mental health.

So glad I found Matt Tarpley's booth at C2E2 & was introduced to his wonderful art! If I hadn't, I never would have gotten a whole book full of his comics! 😻😻😻 Okay, given the things I like, I'm sure I would have stumbled across the book eventually. But I didn't have to wait! Yay! 😄😄😄

sdbruening I loved this panel with the owl and his library tree. So cute! 4y
